Leila releases a frustrated exhalation, dropping her hands to her sides.
“Why are we doing this? We know I can’t summon the light through these exercises, Ezra.”
He shakes his head, grasping her hands and guiding her through several calming motions. “It has proven to work, Leila. It just requires focus and practice. Think of it as a violin lesson if that helps. You didn’t pick it up and know what to do first thing.”
She exhales again but nods. “Alright, but how will this help weaponize the light?”
“You need to understand control first before you can simply turn it into a weapon.” he counters calmly. Leila sighs in defeat. If only she could do more than simply summon her light.
She plops down onto the cool ground and stares at the black ceiling. Leila states with a frown, “Everything here is so dark.”
Ezra settles down beside her, placing a cold hand beneath her chin. He tilts her face to meet his amethyst gaze and questions lightly, “What troubles you?”
