Mikki Auclair, Princess of the Royal House pack, is part of a prophecy that says she’ll possess a great power as a Luna, once she marries on her 21st birthday.
Max Grosvenor is the Alpha that her brother, the King, chooses for her, since her other option was a dangerous man. One that could put the entire Royal Family at risk if he put his hands on her.
Max is also her mate, but when he doesn’t show any signs of knowing about the bond, Mikki thinks that he only offered himself out of duty to the King.

Mikki had her breakfast with all her brothers that morning, but she couldn’t stop wondering why Max wasn’t there with them. He slept at the palace after all. Fitz was completely tired the night before and he hadn’t even been into the fight like Max had. 


Was it possible that Max was still sleeping? Or was he avoiding her on purpose?


She shook her head, trying not to overthink things. Just because she had asked him to stop the kiss, it shouldn’t mean he would be mad at her because of it, would it?


“Can I go with you next time?” Don’s voice took Mikki out of her internal debate. 


“What are you talking about?” she asked, frowning at her younger brother.


“I’m asking Fitz to take me to the field. I want to see how things actually work. So when I enter the army, I’ll have some advantage,” Don explained.


Mikki blinked at how absurd that sounded.


“Are you insane?” she scolded. “You won’t be going to the field. You’re only sixteen, Don.”
