Chapter 41: United

A couple of hours later, Mikki left the office, agreeing with Ace that he should start the preparations for the Ceremony immediately. He asked her to give her opinions on every single thing she wanted, or even take over entirely if she felt like it. She thanked him and said she’d think of it after she had some time to assimilate everything she heard in the last hours.

She took the book with her, promising him that she’d be careful with it, and would hide it very well in her bedroom, so no one knew she was studying the prophecy.

She was dying to find who was the spy inside the palace, but again, she didn’t really know the members of the council well, so she couldn’t even say that she had her own suspicions.

Mikki also didn’t want to press Ace about it, he seemed to be going through a lot as well, and she didn’t want to add more into his plate than she already had.
