Wand

*Ding*

As they walked into the dimly lit store, the sound of a bell ringing rang behind them.

Inside the shop, an elderly man stood behind the counter, facing a large shelf filled with numerous little and dusty boxes.

With the sound of the bell ringing, he quickly turned and peered at the entrance.

"Welcome to Ollivanders!" Gervaise Ollivandar welcomed them with enthusiasm, when he saw them entering into his store.

And, he didn't instantly focus on the somewhat famous Dumbledore behind them, unlike others.

"I see we have some special students here?" Ollivandar whispered to himself, his silvery pupils wide-eyed with wonder and curiosity.

Tom trembled a little at his slight, but Jack simply ignored this and introduced himself first.

"Good morning, Mr. Ollivandar. My name is Jack Frost."

Jack, on the other hand, also thought that silver pupils were clearly special and must have some powers.

"Gervaise Ollivandar, Young man, it's a pleasure to meet you." After being brought out of his thoughts by Jack's introduction, Ollivandar softly introduced himself.

"Albus, considering how busy you are, it's a surprise that you still take this task of introducing the children?" After finally focussing on Dumbledore behind them, Ollivandar joked lightly.

Dumbledore sat in a store chair, holding a candy he had brought. Aside from him, there were two trunks containing all of their belongings.

"Yes, my schedule is indeed busy." Dumbledore admitted that, his tone was light and he also spoke with the wand-maker more casually than with others he had met before. "However, I can't ignore my responsibilities, because children are the future of wizarding world."

However, Dumbledore cut him off before he could ask him any more questions. "Get them, a wand. This is going to take a long time, I'm pretty sure." He spoke confidently, as if he already knew the situation

'Is there really some way to find out about this?' With a strange expression on his face, Jack pondered.

"Let's begin." After hearing Dumbledore, Ollivandar wasted little time in getting to work on what he does best. "Which of you would like to go first?" He inquired.

Before Tom could move forward, Jack stepped forward and took a position in front of the counter.

When Tom saw this, he just shrugged and proceeded to sit in the chair with Dumbledore, paying attention to the happenings.

"Would you wish to hold the wand in your left or right hand?"

"You can try to hold this and see which of your hands you are most comfortable with," Ollivandar said, knowing they come from a muggle world.

Then, he handed him a slightly broken hand.

"Right hand!" After some consideration, Jack responded. He also examined the broken wand, which had a bright red feather in the middle, which was visible due to the crack mostly in the middle.

After hearing his response, Ollivandar hesitated and shrugged before putting the damaged wand away. He got the measurements and proceeded to the long row of shelves inside.

He returned a minute later with a few wand boxes in his hand, which he placed on the glass counter.

Ollivandar then glanced at him with those pure silver eyes that twinkled like the silver moon in the sky.

If the old man kept staring at himself like a freaking peadophile any longer, Jack had the urge to blast the entire store.

"Your eyes are really special." Ollivandar spoke up with a deep voice, breaking the silence.

'Okay?!' Jack's brows furrowed, and he realised that Ollivandar's silver eyes must be anything but ordinary once more. He made a mental note to find out more about this later. "Mr. Ollivandar, many people say the same thing." He took a breath and continued. "However, the majority of them were ladies and girls." His speech drifted off, and the shop descended into an awkward environment as a result of his statements.

Dumbledore coughed to clear the embarrassing atmosphere, and Tom was perplexed by his remarks, given that he is still a young child with a naive mind.

Ollivandar awkwardly laughed and moved on to the most essential process. He didn't comment further on this.

"Let's start." He spoke before opening the box and placing a slew of wands in front of him on the counter.

"Keep in mind that the wand choose the wizard." Ollivandar spoke the famous line in a grave and solemn manner.

"Are they sentient?" Jack wondered because he sensed magic in them, and the magic on the wand appeared to be of many colours in his view. Some were black and white, while others were red and blue. It was like a colourful feast in front of his eyes.

This situation piqued his interest.

"You get to pick the wand first!" Ollivandar spoke solemnly, thinking that just asking this question would mostly send the child to Ravenclaw. "After this, I'll give you my answer."

Jack grasped a brown wand in his palm and infused it with his magic.

*Roar* *Boom*

The entire wand shop was shaken by a blast of golden flames and a draconic roar.

The golden flames erupted from his wand, and the danger of the flames could be clearly seen, as the temperature in the store rose at an unbelievable rate. It was only a nick away from catching the entire shop on fire.

However, Ollivandar just waved his hands, and the golden flames were quenched almost instantly, while various runes could be seen in every area of the shop before dimming.

"This is not suitable for you, or even with anything related to dragon," Ollivandar said as he grabbed the wand from him. Before removing some of the boxes from the table, he said something. "Keep going."

Jack didn't say anything because he was tool lazy to talk. As a result, he simply began picking up the wands from the table.

Then, as time passed, bursts of light, water flood, wind fury, and even unending fireworks appeared on the shop. However, the shop remained stable without scratch no matter what.

In between, Ollivandar's voice echoed, "A picky costumer, just the type I prefer." He murmured creepy things without changing his expression.

It took all of his willpower, as well as a pat on the back from Dumbledore, to not simply aim the wand and imbue his limitless supply of his magical might, and kill this creepy old man with simple twist in space.

Soon, a slew of boxes piled up on the counter, and Tom became so bored that he fell asleep in his seat. Dumbledore, on the other hand, was paying close attention to the happenings.

"Yes." Finally, Ollivandar exclaimed. "This should be your best or only option, as the majority of regular wands don't appear to suit you." He finished, while Jack's patience was being tested by the minute.

Ollivandar returned with a black box, which he carefully placed on the counter, with care and solemnity in his eyes, indicating that this wand must be truly unique based on his actions and demeanour. He opened the box.

A black wand appeared in his vision, and the moment it was displayed, a depressing atmosphere descended upon the store.

Dumbledore's eyes became sharp and his hands shook slightly as he gazed at this wand.

"Give this a try." Ollivandar's tone was solemn; he had no more smiles or gaffes. "See if you can tame it and become its sole master."

"My family created this masterpiece centuries ago, based on a legend from the magical world. Even, one of my ancestors nearly died during the wand-making procedure." With his eyes wide with eagerness and anticipation, he explained. "Let's see if, after all these centuries, it finally finds its owner."

'Don't tell me!' When Jack speculated what the wand might be, he became a little excited.

Jack pulled the black wand from the box in front of everyone and immediately felt another will within the wand.

The will was full of tyranny and disobedience, as though it refused to surrender to anyone.

However, Jack was unfazed, and his blue pupils began to shine as his infinite supply of magic, like an ocean, was imbued into the wand.

The wand's will was completely suppressed under his magic and will, and it didn't even put up much resistance after coming into contact with his magic.

With a wand in his hand, Jack soon felt a connection. The wand felt like an extension of his hand now, and he could control it as easily as any other part of his body, rather than just a tool to discharge his magic.

However, Jack recognised something wrong with his surroundings: the entire street outside had turned dark, and he was alone in the shop chair, the others had vanished.

The world around him had lost all colour and had turned white and black, just like the scene in the Wanda and vision. However, he had no problems, and soon the surroundings began to fade and become imaginary, gradually being replaced by unending darkness.

He sensed a connection, but it wasn't with the wand. But there's more, a deeper connection to a distinct location.

The connection is most likely what prompted him to find himself in this predicament.

Before he could finish his thought, a hand was placed on his shoulders, nearly scaring him to death.

"It's all right, Jack," Dumbledore appearand behind him out of nowhere, he seemed to be misinterpreting his look and offering words of comfort.

Dumbledore immediately waved his wand at the surroundings, almost everything around him disintegrated.

The next second, Dumbledore and Jack were both sitting in the same place as before. Tom and Ollivandar continued to look at him with anticipation and excitement. They appeared to be completely oblivious to what had happened previously.

"Finally!" When he watched a blaze of light erupt from the wand and the shaking wand calmed down in Jack's hands, Ollivandar cried tears of joy. "If my ancestor saw this scene, he would be overjoyed."

"It's fantastic, isn't it?"

"This wand, consisting of elder wood and thestral tail hair as a core, was modelled after the fabled elder wand. This wand, like the one in the legend, will not surrender to anyone it considers lesser; it was a wand that only conquered by those who were directly tied to death, as it also represents death to some extent." Ollivandar confirmed the guesses by recounting the wand's history and details. "In response to the prior question, the wands is semi-sentient."

"And you, Jack Frost, are destined for far greater things than you can fathom." Ollivandar finished and sat behind the bar in his chair, looking fatigued, as he, too, need some rest.

"I appreciate it, Mr. Ollivandar. I believe this wand is the perfect fit for me." When he held this wand, Jack stated with a smile finally appearing on his lips, he felt his expectations were partially met. He turned a blind eye to the last words.

"Young man, it's fated." When Ollivandar heard the Jack's comments, he said.

Jack nodded and rose from his seat, his thoughts, however, were a jumbled mess at the time. He was compelled to reconsider Dumbledore's strength and wizarding world itself. The combination of marvel and Harry Potter seemed to brought some great change.

Dumbledore's previous deeds, rescuing him from that space, had prompted this thoughts.

"Tom, now it's your turn." Dumbledore spoke to Tom, Tom immediately walked ahead to Jack and examined the wand in his hand with interest.

Soon, Tom was in front of Ollivandar and questioning him about wands. Ollivandar also rose and began searching for wand suitable for tom.

Jack sat at Tom's old seat, which was close to Dumbledore. While strolling, he spotted Dumbledore's change while glancing at him. He also pretended that nothing happened before, after noticing Dumbledore didn't ask any questions.

Dumbledore looked at him with deep blue eyes and a dazed expression when he gazed at the wand in his hand, as though falling into reminiscence.

"Do you need any candy?" His tone, though, remained unchanged; he didn't appear to have any suspicions about Jack.

He knew he had a tendency to go overboard when handling with situations. But, he's can still judge someone's character. He can easily see that Jack is hiding something, but who doesn't?

This didn't influence his opinion of him because, unlike his former friend, his eyes never exhibited the chilling indifference.

"Yes." While they waited for Tom to complete obtaining the wand, Jack didn't reject him and took a candy from him.

Tom had to choose the wand himself, which took some time.

Finally, Tom received the same wand that he had in the books and films. They ultimately paid 30 galleons for both wands and departed the wand shop to continue their shopping.

Then they went to flourish and blotts and brought all the school books, with Jack choosing up anything vaguely relevant to 'History of the Magical World' from the selves and finally made their way to the madam Markin store to get the uniforms.

Dumbledore took them to a pet store, where Tom purchased a green snake and Jack purchased a bald eagle.

Dumbledore's look when he saw Tom's choice, particularly when he saw Tom conversing to a snake, was priceless. For Jack, wanted to take a picture of it for future purposes.

With the twilight of the sun emerging from the horizon, they finally had some ice cream and made their way out of the diagon alley, after finishing the entire purchase for the school.
