Chapter 27: You're a Killer

The moment Vivian stepped into the courtyard of Everett’s home, she was on fire, every nerve in her body ablaze with anger and her mind fighting against itself. Her two sides battled, as the hunter she needed to kill the vampires, while as a woman with feelings for Everett, she urged herself to trust Everett. But how could she, when he was being completely irrational at this moment. She needed to know why he wouldn’t kill them. Letting Marcus and those other vampires live was a death sentence for them both.

“Everett, what was that?” She snapped.

“What do you mean?” His calm demeanor only infuriated her more.

“I mean why the hell did we not kill those vampires? You are risking everything by not killing them.”

“No. Marcus will not risk falling out of favor with me.”
