Vivian’s body woke to the pressure of the flight’s descent to the ground. Glancing out the window, Vivian saw that the sun was just starting to rise on a cloudless, beautiful day in Egypt. Looking across, Everett was missing. A quick scan of the plane and Vivian realized she was alone. But that was impossible, she thought, where did he go?
The last thing she remembered was him holding her in his arms, whispering how much he cared for her as Vivian literally cried herself to sleep. It was not her finest moment, she had to admit, but it was a moment nonetheless. A moment in which Everett confessed that he had feelings for her. Vivian still had no idea what it all meant, not mustering the courage to ask.
