There was a moment there when Vivian thought she was going to have to kill Everett along with the pack of salivating vampires standing before her in the bar. The odds were not in her favor, but she’d been in worse positions and survived. Of course, she was more fueled by anger in this moment. Everett had asked her to trust him, but that was becoming very difficult.
“I see,” Chanh seethed, his eyes filling with lust.
“I know my actions last time I was in New Orleans were less than desirable,” Everett announced, “but I see you have fared well nonetheless.” Chanh nodded. “With that being said, I’d like to make an agreement.”
“I’m listening.”
“I have some pressing business here.”
“Which is?”
“I am looking for someone.”
“Who?”
“I’d rather not say.”
