Chapter 99: He's Gone

Vivian struggled under the pressure of Iris' thick arm muscles. Being twice her size and possessed with magic had given him the strength to keep her imprisoned in his arms. Vivian had figured it all out too late. Collin’s involvement, his plan to trap Ava and Everett. To steal the power for himself. But the thing that infuriated her the most was learning that Vera was sent to make it all happen and Everett went right along with it.

“Vivian,” Everett called out to her, but he couldn’t move. Vivian wasn’t sure if it was Everett’s unwillingness to let go of protecting Ava or if Collin was holding him in his place, but either way, Everett was a statue.

“You know, all this is so trivial in the grand scheme of things. This world, this Earth. I’ve been here for thousands of years, seen it all. Empires fall. Kings fall. These humans just seem to keep making the same mistakes over and over again - it’s quite comical really.”

“Let her go,” Everett hissed.
