Chapter 33: An Unwanted Encounter

Caleb and I made our way down the street, shopping bags in hand.

“There’s this great sushi place right down here,” Caleb suggested. We’d been debating for ten minutes already on where to go for lunch.

I wrinkled my nose in disgust. “I’m not much of a fish person.”

“Fine, you have no taste, I get it.”

I laughed, hitting him on the shoulder. “Whatever. What are some foods that you hate? I need to equally judge you.”

Caleb shook his head quickly. “No, I can’t tell you that.”

“Why not?”

“Because everyone judges me for it.”

“Oh, come on.” I grabbed onto his arm. “Please?”

He glanced at me out of the corner of his eye, then sighed, giving in. “Fine. It’s pasta. I don’t like pasta.”

I dropped his arm. “You’re kidding.”

“Nope. I can’t stand the texture.”

“Huh,” I said, “that’s not normal. I see why everyone judges you.”

Caleb’s lip twitched. “Okay, hey, you don’t need to go there.”

I smirked. “Sorry, couldn’t help it.”
