Chapter 37: The Pool

“I don’t know about this,” I whispered to Caleb. “You know I’m all about doing stuff we aren’t supposed to do, but this is something new. We could get caught!”

Caleb laughed at me, which didn’t exactly make me feel better.

We were crouched outside of the fence that surrounded the pool. Even though it was pitch black out, I still felt exposed, and kept glancing over my shoulders to see if anyone was watching us.

Caleb was calmer than he should’ve been, casually running his hand along the chain link fence. He assured me there was a spot that was slightly broken off, that wasn’t large enough to be spotted easily, but still small enough to pull open and wriggle through.
