Chapter 50: Epilogue

“You may now kiss the bride!”

The crowd erupted in cheers as Mason pulled Heather in for the kiss that sealed the deal. I tried my hardest not to be one of those people that cried of happiness at a wedding. I almost succeeded; there was only a small moment where I’d teared up when they’d said their vows.

Everyone bustled around after Heather and Mason went to the lake to get more pictures. I couldn’t tear my gaze away from the fiery orange and red sunset that just barely touched the tip of the mountains. It was exactly how Heather had wanted it to be.

I watched Heather trek down the hill, with Mason following behind her, holding her dress so that she wouldn’t trip on it. I was so focused on them that I hadn’t heard anyone approach me. I suddenly felt a hand on my lower back.

I almost jumped, but I could tell from the gentle and warm touch that it was Caleb.

“How do you feel about crashing wedding photos?” He whispered into my ear.
