Holy Perdition - Part 1

Over and over again Ada read the letter between her uncle and Gunter Carmodeigh. Over and over and over. And each time, she felt more foolish - more brainless - than the last. She analyzed the words, looked over some sort of code or cypher, studied each imperfection of the parchment, hoping it would have some sort of clue. But it didn't. She could stare at it for eternity and, still, it would turn out the same.

And yet, with a single glance, Uncle Alfie burst out in a fit of laughter. His spirits were lifted like they had never been before. And then he left without a word, offering her no aid whatsoever in the now enigmatic letter.
