Kathy quickly made her way to the door with the expectation that it'd be Christopher or Annie came back for something they had left behind.
She opened the door with overloading energy ready to make fun of her besties that had left there things behind and had to drive all the way back for it.
"What's it this time, key?" She asked not focusing on the face that stood before her.
"Ah, no. I'm here for Miss Siana Jones," a male voice replied looking down on the phone in his hand.
"Me?" Siana’s voice appeared.
The voice that demanded entry to her ear was quite familiar, too familiar. But then again she couldn't remember where she had heard that bone trilling voice before, no matter how much it settled on her clueless brain. Then a disturbing thought pinched her mind. Could it be one of Alexander's goons here to take her back?
"Oh, hello Miss Jones" Aden said with a gentle tone looking up at Siana with a smile that screamed; I'm over joyed to see you again.
Siana's expression died down immediately. Why was he standing in front of her door with that smile? She stepped out into the hall way and closed the door leaving Kathy standing at the door clueless. "Why are you here?!" She asked in fear and raging anger. "I thought he said he'd leave me alone!" Now her words were just pure anger.
The early morning was fine, in fact quite amazing. A day she had big plans for, a morning she didn’t want to go bad. She gazed upon his cunning smirk as the tears slowly took over her vision. "I'm not going back," she said stepping back up to her front door shaking her head repeatedly.
"Don't worry Miss Jones, believe me Sir Alexander doesn't want you back. He mentioned something to you the last time, and now it's time to earn your freedom." He replied slowly approaching her with the very same smile glued to his lips. She had buried this all from the last time she laid eyes upon him but now it's all coming back.
"All you have to do is-" he whispered in her ear side eyeing Kathy as she peeked through the creases of the door. "No, are you fucking crazy?!" She shouted and stepped back.
"You want me to-" Aden quickly covered her mouth with his hand and placed his finger at his lips that the sun laid its beauty on, "Shhh." He whispered eyeing Kathy.
Kathy could see the danger on Siana’s face as the stranger before her eyes whispered in her ear and dressed back eyeing her with an evil smirk, turn his back and headed off with confident strides.
There it was another one of Alexander's insane requests. She was a five foot five female that knew nothing. She didn’t know how to protect herself nor conduct herself so why would he give her a job like that?
Have you ever heard of the saying; nothing goes away forever? Siana thought that after she was told that she was free and if she was to drink away a night in attempt to forget his name, his face, his voice, forget him fully then it all would go away. Then she would wake up to a morning hearing Kathy downstairs yelling at the door for a chance to enter, as it had always been. But Alexander had something different in mind, something good planned for her. What a way to break her spirit once more.
Kathy rushed down the hall and grabbed onto Siana's arm. "Are you okay?" She asked watching Aden’s back disappearing around the corner and into the elevator. Kathy led Siana back in the apartment and sat quietly beside her as the questions drowned her up to the neck.
"Who was he?" She asked breaking the depressed silence. She hated seeing her best friend just sitting next to her looking as if she had finally hit rock bottom, motionless, quiet. She hated seeing the tears settled on her cheek, she hated seeing her sad without a good explanation.
"Kathy I really don't want to marry him but I really don't want to do as he says." She replied weakly with her had on her cheek, her skinny pale legs on the edge of the couch and her arm rested on the side on the couch.
"What are you talking about, was he the guy you would marry?" Kathy asked confused slowly brushing back her hair in an attempt to comfort her.
"Alexander, the man my parents sold me to. The man I'll have to marry!" She shouted with an avalanche of tears behind the last breath she took before ending her sentence.
"He's a psycho. The only way I can get out of this if I do a delivery for him. What does that even mean?!" She asked at the top of her voice standing up with hand on her forehead and the other on her waist as she walked back and forth with small sniffles.
"I thought he was serious. I thought he didn’t want to marry me, I thought he changed his mind, found someone better," a loud sniffle flew in the silent room.
Kathy got up from the couch and grabbed her by the waist lightly, "He can’t be that bad, maybe it's just a simple matter and you're just over thinking things. Why would he want to hurt or stress out the woman he loves?" she whispered wiping away the tears from Siana's cheek.
"Kathy why do you think everyone's always a good person?!" Siana shouted as she slipped out of her grip and stepped back in anger, "He's a psycho."
Kathy held her head low feeling sad, as if she had just made it worst, something she had always done. Kathy quickly raised her head at the sound of a sharp knock at the door. Siana looked at Kathy with big surprised eyes then at the door. Her feet whispered to the carpet and her sweat quenched its thirst as fear stand at command. It was her fears, Kathy's shivering body and the mysterious knock at the door, no one else, or nothing else. Just a war between fear, sweats and the two shivering bodies of Kathy- Ann Nor and Siana- Lia Jones.
