A DEAL

Previously,

"Listen, first, I or we don't have a lot of friends that I can ask for this kind of help and that's why Eva went to you asking for help," he stated. "Second, I don't like copying or cheating. So make it sure before pointing your fingers out."

June realized ever since their first clash they are not in a good term and that doesn't have any proper reason as they didn't find anything against them. They are also both avoiding each other as much as possible.

This atmosphere between them appeared to be whole new for June. She didn't think this person whom she assumed to be belligerent and arrogant also can calmly talk with phrasal words.

It made sense to June, maybe because now they need their help or it's really because they didn't give each other the time or the situation to be polite.

Whatever it is, June couldn't refuse that Noah is certainly good at standing on people's sense of justice. Whether she refuses to help or not but now she has to listen to him. That means he got a good grip from his side.

"Yeah...ok, I got it," she sighs. "Say what do you want?"

"I don't have time. I have to finish my project today. Help me with the project since we kicked out because of you."

"But I also have my studies to do and let me remind you that things we were after haven't been solved yet."

"Talking all high but selfish when it comes to taking responsibility is what I was expecting from you anyway," he wrapped his bag and turned to walk in opposite direction. "See you....never."

"Wait...fine I will help you," she gritted. "I do not give excuses but if I am helping you, you have to speak what I want to know."

"Would you believe in my words?"

"You should speak like that so I can believe."

It's almost the end of the year, students are busy preparing for their thesis, assignments, projects, and group studies. So these days most of the time the campus is lacking space.

The library kicked them out, the cafeteria won't keep open until they finish, and then other areas where they could sit and study are full of studious students. Now Noah is walking and June is following him silently.

She informed Sarah that she would be late but didn't tell her about him. She wanted to see what they have got. At the same time, she is curious about their weird behavior. The last time when Noah was on his way to attend his lecture with his injured hand, she noticed him. She is wondering if this is also in the part of the thing he wants to say.

But right now what pinching June the most is, why isn't Noah asking for help from Eva and Owen for his assignments? Is it because he wants to tell her on his own as they already tried to convince her from their side?

Noah avoids publicity and likes to stay reserved but that doesn't mean he is antisocial. As soon as they reached his department building all the chaotic friends surrounded him.

"You f*ker we were searching for you...where have you been these days? The professor was angry. Why didn't you submit your assignment?"

The rain of questions didn't let Noah even answer. He stood there with an annoyed face. June was more annoyed because she doesn't like gatherings. Seeing Noah's face she couldn't find the fact how he became so popular with that ego.

"Who is she, Noah?" a girl in the gathering glared at June in her corner sight.

"She is none of your business," he said with annoyance. "I am preparing the assignment. I will probably submit it tomorrow. You rats don't block my path."

"Let our company you, Noah. She mustn't be from our department. Why bring an outsider for help when we can help you."

June rolled her eyes. She suddenly felt like dèja vu when those bunch of girls glared at her. The fact is in this whole mass she didn't notice but Noah indeed is a social butterfly and he has a good number of admirers.

Why not? Where would they find a man blessed with both charm and smartness and that also comes with a fat account?

There are sure a lot of princes charming in the university but his personality speaks for him as a king.

But June is not someone who would let go of things easily. There are a lot of people who are asking to help him on their own. What's the point of dragging her a long way when it's not like they are even on good terms or anything? What is the planning?

She glared at him. Anger and confusion were spurring out from her sight.

"You would make a hole in me," he said while skipping some steps on the stairs and without even a glance at her. "Don't let them bother you. We would work on the top floor. I'm sure there won't be anyone."

"You have a lot of friends here. Why did you say you don't have anyone whom you can ask for?" She wrinkled her face.

"It's unbelievable I know but unfortunately I find them more annoying than you."

"I don't understand why they even follow you?"

"It's not..huff..important to understand either," he was breathing heavily as they were climbing hurry on the stairs.

[June's POV]

{I would be a fool if I didn't know about the reasons why he was remembered by the professor and those people surrounding him. One of the reasons that the professor knew him specifically was because he was a ranked student. He had a huge social group and of course, his visual had a lot of admirers.

His personality may not reflect but actually, he was the complete opposite of me. It was funny that he said he needs my help because he doesn't have friends and I went for that.

But later I discovered that none of them actually knew about his personal life and his father was the president of the city's top brand group except for Eva and Owen. When his father came to our graduation people finally knew and we laughed as they were silently proved, so-called friends.

But if I say that is the only reason he was famous I would be a shame. He cared a lot about people who weren't meant anything. Even pretending cold-hearted and savage he would always help and stand beside his friends no matter what.

He was a cold hand with a warm heart. Standing beside Owen and even giving a damn to his safety would be the best example of that.}

It didn't take long for him to find a perfect place to sit and study. Looks like he often comes here to study. June never experienced the "under the sky in the rooftop" study.

As she was never into studying she would find different ways to keep herself together in studying. Rather than running away from that and wasting time like others, her mother used to apply this scheme since she was young. This rooftop study is not feel bad.

Noah unloaded his books and notes and then showed her how many questions they have to solve.

"What?!" She shouted with disbelief. "Why is it so many?"

"Because I haven't solved any of these," he shrugged.

"How can we two solve this today? Why don't you take help from Owen or Eva?"

"Because they are useless to their own."

"Then why not these friends of yours from your department."

"The girl you are keeping in your home, do you know exactly who is she?" His lips stretched slightly when he saw her shocked eyes glaring at him with incredulity.

"How do you know about her?"

"Haha, you just took anyone to your home and that's been a while I guess, but didn't even think to raise a question. Then you are so eager to find details about us when you hadn't had anything in the first place!"

"She is the daughter of Ring group's president who died one year ago in a car accident. Her mother was divorced and she was living with her uncle. Why are you pulling her in here?"

"She said that?"

"No, we find out."

"Why didn't you find out why her mother was divorced and she wasn't his blood daughter?"

"What?! Why do you know about this all?"

"I am sure you know we are searching for someone. Owen's big brother Dae-sung hyung, he is missing for eight months now. While searching for him we got to know about some of the details."

"What details?"

"Well, it's something we got to know by working hard. You have to pay for it."

June was confused and doubtful. She couldn't decide if she should believe him or not. He didn't look like someone who would beat in the bushes. He reached to her with a full pond of water. So the only way she could conclude was to go with the flow until he opens his mouth.

But one strange thing still remains why did he choose to take help from her after all the mass they had. There was no need for going this far just to take help. He has a lot of friends who would willingly help them. What is the planning?

"How about this? You help us find that hyung and I will help you reveling that girl?"

"Why would I need your help?"

"Because you can't get Ring group's private information. If you could you would have known why her mother was divorced."

"And how will you know that?"

"That's why we have to make a deal. You help us and I will help you."

"Ok fine, let's see," she gets up and was going to walk away.

"Why don't you confirm our deal?"

She stopped and turned around, "what do you mean?"

"Did you really think we are here to do my hobby?"

"You still got something?"

"First help me with this assignment and I will tell you in between," seeing her standing with doubt he smirked. "If you think I am going to spout bullsh*t isn't it better to listen rather than knowing nothing."
