WHY US?

Previously,

"First help me with this assignment and I will tell you in between," seeing her standing with doubt he smirked. "If you think I am going to spout bullsh*t isn't it better to listen rather than knowing nothing."

Continue,

"Noah wasn't agreed to take them in..do you think he meant when he said he would take care of it?" said Owen.

The basketball team is preparing for the final match with other universities. So Eva is taking heavy breaths for some weeks. Owen has to prepare his project that is pending this semester but still, he spares his time to help Eva as they put their heart and soul into his brother.

They did whatever they could now it's all up to Noah. They still haven't thought about what would they do if she won't agree to help them. After all, they also have their reasons. It was silly of them that they thought it was going to be easy bait. They are not raw players. So there is also a chance that they could use them instead.

"Five minutes of rest," the coach announced. Eva passed water and cold drinks to the resting boys. Then she sat beside Owen on the bench.

"Do you think targeting June is enough to take their help?" she dazed. "After all she alone is not enough for us. We need all of them... including... Ryan."

"You didn't notice? They trust June the most also she would be the only one who will be against us even if the other would accept," Owen felt doubt. "But still your right... Ryan could be another brick in the way." He springs out of the blue, "Hey, shouldn't we call Noah to know what's going on? If he handles there maybe we can go talk to Ryan?"

"Uhh, are you sure We *shakes her index against them* would be able to do that? Cause I don't trust him at all."

"Right... maybe we should wait for June to talk to him first," he stiffed his lips.

[At the rooftop]

It's almost evening. Noah didn't say any words besides the assignment. His subjects are quite tricky so June emerged in it that she almost forgot about other things. She only noticed when looked up to the sky because her neck was hurting and saw the birds were returning home making an arrow above the sky.

She was going to burst on him but he took her words, "No need for screaming it's almost done. So we can return home like them and I can also submit it tomorrow."

"Sighs," she glares at him. "I don't do social work for free you know. You didn't spout any words."

"I know you need proves, of course, you won't believe me without that, or will you?"

She narrowed her eyes.

"No, I'm not going to prove anything. It's not my business yet and you won't believe in me anyway. So the one who would find the proof would be you."

"That's not the proper reason why should I help you guys."

"Not only you but we also need Ryan and those whom you secretly investigate with."

"You..." she was shocked that how much information he collected in a short time. Although it was not so impossible as many people know them by this time.

"It's not a big deal. You shouldn't be so shocked. However, you can easily find the proof when you search for the reason why that girl's parents were divorced. Now shall we?"

Lots of questions and lots of thoughts were pealing up to June's head. But she was so tired after all that mathematics that she didn't have the energy to argue with him. She didn't accept his offer nor did she decline. They lefts the building after wrapping their things and called it a day.

When she reached home she saw Elena was playing with Steffy in the living room. She wondered if it is possible to have a dark past behind that heavenly smile. Her lips stretched without her knowing just seeing that lovely innocent soul. She wants to know everything about her but what if she scratches her old wound. June looks down and straight goes to her room.

She has to talk with Ryan but before that, she needs to organize her thoughts. She takes a shower for longer than she usually does. Then she sits at her study table with a lot of snacks. When she can't understand or organize something serious she skips her meals, sits at the study table, and have a lot of snacks.

It's a perfect bait Noah has dropped to draw them to their side. But she can't completely ignore those facts. If she thinks about Noah pulling her in this case it doesn't make sense. He might be a reserved person but he sure has people who could help them. And of course those excuses he made about Eva and Owen, why couldn't they help him today was useless as June didn't buy that. He owns sharp brain cells, so they stuck and that's why they're asking for help out of the blue is all nonsenses.

Just because of some old files they won't do such ridiculous things. Is it about Elena? But why would they be behind her? Regardless of their motives, those facts he talked about weren't pointless.

Until now she only answered what she has been asked. She didn't say any words on her own. She is quiet. She doesn't have a lot of needs regarding her background. June tutors her after coming back from university. She is really a sharp student. But something is off about her and Noah just got on that point. More importantly, why is he related to her?

June stayed for hours sitting at the table. She thought for a long but nothing made sense. She threw those empty wrappers in the dustbin and went to Ryan's room.

Ryan was lying on the bed scrolling his phone feed when June broke into his room and he jumped out of shock. As soon as she enters she started a river of words without breathing like a robot.

"Brother, today Noah asked for help from us to find Owen's big brother Dae-sung who is missing for more than three months then he said he knows about Elena more than us."

Ryan's mouth was open for this long and his eyes would fall out as he didn't even blink out of shock. He kept holding his hands on his chest until she finishes.

"My god," he gulped and was speechless. "Why are you so eager to reduce my life span?"

She sits on the bed indifferent to his reaction, "Do you know why Elena's parents were divorced?"

"Is it important to know to keep her with us?" he said while lying on the bed again.

"How'd we know? She might live her whole life shouldn't we at least know her details since it's been almost more than six months?"

"But should we...." he looked at her with doubt.

June and Ryan know the struggle of abundance. They know this happy palace is not a one-day building. That place that they lived as a child, with Elena's ego they don't want her to suffer it. There will be no point in taking her here.

"Let's speak to mother she is closer to her."

"Hmm... What were you saying about Owen's brother?"

"He's missing. Eva and Owen came to me first but I declined then..."

"Hmm...did you say yes to him?"

"Not yet,"

"Then let's see tomorrow."

"Are you going to meet them?"

"I think they would come by themselves."

"No, Noah mentioned Elena's parents' divorce. He wants us to come to them."

"Then tomorrow let's talk to mother and let's see if we can find something by ourselves. Father might be able to do that I guess."

"Hmm."

[At Eva's house]

Eyes are swollen, tears flowing on Owen's chicks, and his running nose made the apex of his nose bridge redish. Eva sat beside him and handed him some tissues. He is sniffing, gulping, and trying hard to save those tears. Just a thin piece of paper is in front of him, the source of his cry.

When Owen came back from his classes to his home he found it in the letter box. His parents are already living sleepless nights since Dae-sung is missing. Fortunately, this letter didn't reach their hands.

It says to stop digging into Dae-sung's missing history. He is no more. If they try to dig into that his whole family and his friends would be in the same state as him. This is the last warning.

There is no time to wait to put hand in hand. There is someone powerful behind them which caused the police to be useless. But it's a wall behind them. What should they do next?

Noah is sitting dazed. "Owen, it's a scam you know that right?" he said whipping his own face with a null voice.

"Noah, would they help us? You talked with June..." Eva said.

"I didn't spare the chance. So I think they would. We would know within tomorrow evening if my guesses are right about them."

"What did you say anyway that I can see you confident enough?"

"Just think it like something I might not have said."

Owen raised his head to him and gazed in blurry vision. Eva released her squished browns, "Noah, you already put so much in yourself I don't want to say anything to you but is it ok to put them in danger?"

Owen sniffed, "I already put you guys in danger I don't want anyone to..."

Before he could finish Noah said, "It's not your fault that you're searching for your brother. You are not putting anyone in danger. And if they are willing to help us then they would be separately doing that so that we will be in front."
