Chapter 105

Samuels split consciousness couldn't focus on anything else right now, he was focused on the fight, the battle, the conflict, the opponent.

Over a hundred years passed for Samuel inside of that state, but only a year for the outside world.

During this year Samuels main consciousness rapidly learnt information. Buying books on military tactics, learning strategies from retired veterans, asking questions to old warriors.

Anything to develop his fighting techniques. He even spent sleepless nights developing new formations, researching plants and herbs that can treat wounds. Poisons and gasses.

All for his clone inside that spiritual state.

With this information, Samuel gained the upper hand in the battlefield. His soldiers found herbs for treatment, and poisoned his enemy's water.

And slowly but surely the hundred year war came to an end. Samuels soldiers marched and besieged the large castle with endless siege equipment, manufactured through scraps of wood and soil.

Nigel had no choice but to watch, and launch desperate final attempts at slaying his enemy. But he lost.

Samuels consciousness slowly returned to his body, however his mind was still digesting each individual memory of a hundred year old war.

Each strategy deeply ingrained his soul, his memory.

As soon as Samuel returned to consciousness in his clone's body, He felt an unprecedented surge of Spiritual Energy pour into his body.

Peak Middle Rank 1…

High Rank 1…

Peak High Rank 1…

Slowly the whirlwind condensed. The spiritual energy turned into a pot of water, then two pots, then three, then a puddle. Samuel felt the liquid trickle around his skin through the large win on his back.

Sharp spikes appeared on the wings as flaming tattoos spread across the clone's skin.

Low Rank 2.

Samuel felt an ocean of power pour into his body. He hadn't experienced anything like this before. The feedback from a hundred year war easily allowed him to reach Low Rank 2.

It could allow him to reach higher, but before he could stop him, Samuel realised something.

Floating in the centre of the puddle of Spiritual Liquid, that condensed inside his body, was a small pavilion. Pure white.

Samuel sunk his consciousness deep into the Pure White Pavillion, only to see a familiar line of troops and soldiers. Soldiers who joined him for over 100 years of combat.

However they were just statues after all.

Samuel injected his energy slowly into one of the leading soldiers. A blank faced jade statue, with a pure white rounded helmet and white armour. Carrying a jade round shield and a longsword.

However Samuel regretted his decision quickly, he felt energy flow rapidly out of his body, half of his reserves disappeared in an instant. But the statue began to move.

Its arms opened widely and it's crooked legs knelt down in front of Samuels Clone.

''Welcome back, General''

Samuel immediately widened his eyes. These jade soldiers, where just how he remembered them!

The pawns, Low Rank 1 Soldiers, Middle Rank 1 Soldiers, High Rank 1 Soldiers. The one that Samuel summoned right now was a Middle Rank 1 Captain.

However, even that took a majority of his energy.

But what made Samuel incredibly happy was that a trace of his soul spread into the body of the jade statue. Controlling it firmly.

At the same time, Nigel, who had been promoted to High Rank 1 from the feedback, also looked deep into his Abdomen. Only to see a pitch black pavilion hanging lightly.

He had the same experience as Samuel, except he only managed to awaken one Low Rank 1 Warrior before he bottomed out his energy.

But that was enough to excite him beyond belief. A Warrior in his empire is enough to be an official!

Samuel also felt a familiar aura awaken on Nigel opposite him.

''So you got it too huh?'' Samuel spoke with a tone of familiarity. After all, they had been opponents for a hundred years.

''Seems like we are destined to be opponents. But for now it is my time to leave.'' Nigel could feel a force pressuring him out.

''You won the first fight, enjoy the benefits. But you should know that the next battle won't be so easy to win.'' Nigel said with a confident smirk.

But Samuel couldn't reply before Nigels body shattered into endless pieces of glass. To only be repaired elsewhere on the Eternal Battlefield.

''Well crap, I only just built this clone and it already has a mortal enemy?'' Samuel spoke to himself.

''However this was definitely worth it.'' He spoke again while looking around at the endless fields of Spiritual Fruits and plants.

Just in his viewpoint he could see three Spiritual Fruit trees, each bearing 4-5 fruits each.

Samuel successfully walked up to the first three, collecting them into the pavilion within his abdomen.

But when he tried to walk into the distance, he felt a powerful border blocking him.

He looked longingly at the waterfall of Spiritual Energy, but focused when he saw a message pop into his head.

(Defeat the Black General once again to be awarded this area)

Clearly the intention of this place was to train talented Generals. And the pawns were his soldiers.

Within the pavilion in the Clones Abdomen, there were easily millions of pawns. They were all unlocked, but required large amounts of energy to awake each living chess piece.

However the stronger pieces, the mighty knights, the magic bishops, the powerful queen and the almighty king were covered by a black mist. Samuel received the same message each time he wanted to awaken them.

(Defeat the Black General once again to unlock these pieces)

Clearly Samuel wouldn't be able to get any piece above High Rank 1 until he defeats Nigel once again. But who knows when that would be.
