Married Without Party

"So what is King Dione going to say until bother coming here?" said Agenor pleasantly.

"If possible, I would like to hold peace talks." King Dione's face was flat.

"Didn't in the previous meeting we fail to do that? What's more, your daughter has bewitched me!" Prince Lagardioz's expression turned cold.

Ruxenia's ruler nodded, understanding of irritation the black-winged man in front of him. "I apologise for the misunderstanding~" Agenor interrupted King Dione's words. The second prince of Lagardioz was famous for not liking small talk.

"There is no misunderstanding. Your daughter does not want that engagement! I have no reason to withdraw my troops!" Agenor's face swept across the thousands of soldiers standing close behind him.

"You are misunderstood! My daughter wants to be your wife!" said King Dione reassuringly.

"Is that true?" One of Agenor's eyebrows rose.

"Where is she?" asked Agenor.

"My Princess, Syrena! Come out!" called the ruler of Ruxenia at the door of the carriage.

The carriage door opened slowly. Agenor's grin widened as the brunette girl with Gray eyes stepped out of the carriage. The girl's facial expression was flat with her head down, but her hands tightly clenched.

Syrena pays respect to her future husband.

Agenor darted toward Syrena until the girl with the pearl on her head jumped because of surprise.

"Are you sure to marry me?" asked the prince.

"I apologise for my past behaviour. I am also willing to receive punishment, provided you cancelled the war." Syrena answered firmly, fearlessly looking at the golden-eyed man.

Syrena's spontaneous answer surprised King Dione because Syrena's words differed from her father's agreement.

The day was the first time that Agenor looked at Princess Ruxenia intensely. Syrena's clear silver eyes matched her thin pink lips perfectly. Syrena's oval face and slender body fit perfectly to the tastes of the second prince Lagardioz.

[Beautiful.]

"Punishment?" Agenor laughed disdainfully.

"So that you know, I'm no longer a pure human because of this magic. It's not just my physique; I've become like an eagle that eats raw animals! It's like you said, I'm a monster!" said Prince Agenor coldly as he stared at Syrena's expressionless face.

"Then what punishment do you want for tarnishing peace talks and bewitching me?" asked Agenor, still glaring at Syrena

"I'm not bewitching you, Prince!" Syrena clenched her jaw.

"I am willing to be put to death provided you cancelled the war!" said Syrena confidently.

"My Princess!" King Dione's face turned pale, and he broke out in cold sweat at the behaviour of his eldest daughter.

Agenor's laughter exploded again until his shoulders shook. In Agenor's eyes, princess Ruxenia looked very uninspired to marry him. Even she was more willing to die than to be the woman of one of the cruellest men on the continent of Exosialand.

"Killing you? That's too easy, honey!" The tip of Agenor's forefinger touched Syrena's chin.

"You don't know what it's like to eat a rat raw when your stomach is queasy, but you're hungry. I want you to be my soul mate, forever!" Instantly the face of the second prince Lagardioz turned cold again.

Syrena's eyes widened like a full moon when hearing the black-winged prince's decision.

[Even when her eyes are about to jump, she still looks pretty.]

There was a strange tingle in the second prince's heart as he looked at Syrena's face.

[We'll see how long you can last by my side!]

"Prince is exaggerating! For us to have a son-in-law like Prince Agenor is not a punishment." King Dione's words immediately shattered Agenor's imagination.

"Really? I will marry your daughter now!" Agenor glared at Syrena.

"What? Now? We haven't prepared anything for the wedding party!" The look on King Dione's face was panicked.

"A party? Isn't this a punishment? There won't be a party for my wedding to Princess Syrena!" Agenor was still staring at Princess of Ruxenia. The brunette girl seemed to be struggling to hide her anger.

"Don't you want punishment from me, Syrena?" whispered Agenor.

"Yes, I want to."

"In that case, I immediately ask for your blessing, King Dione!" Agenor stared coldly at his future in-laws.

Prince Agenor and Princess Syrena were married outside the fortress of Ischirozh. There was no music and lively parties, just an ordinary lunch for the soldiers who had walked to Ruxenia. A wedding without a party was most uncomfortable for a princess.

After the sun slipped to the west, the Geraky legions headed for Lagardioz. In the carriage, Syrena was alone, looking at the Ischirozh fortress, which was getting farther away.

Eight days of travelling had passed, and Syrena finally set foot in Prince Agenor's palace in Rosehallow, a city at the west end of Lagardioz kingdom. Syrena was left alone for a long time after getting off the horse-drawn carriage.

Fortunately, the beautiful flowers in the garden greeted Syrena's arrival and reduced her annoyance.

"Your Majesty's room is over here." A servant girl saluted Syrena, then pointed towards Princess Ruxenia's room.

Long walking down the corridor with the rooms with oversized doors, Syrena was led down the stairs by the maid to the dark alleys with minimal lighting.

"Are you sure you take me to the room?" asked Syrena curiously. The scenery around Syrena was getting darker and darker.

The maid girl in the green uniform looks awry. "That's right, Your Majesty." The black-haired maid's face looked afraid of getting an adverse reaction from Syrena.

"I apologise, Your Majesty. I am only carrying out orders." The maid girl lowered her head in deep regret.

"It's okay. Quickly take me there. I want to rest!" Princess Ruxenia nodded casually.

[Thank God, that guy won't be sleeping in the same room with me.]

A dusty wooden door opened. Syrena and the maid went inside. There were no windows or ventilation, only a thin mattress on the floor, a small wardrobe, and a small table.

Without being ordered to, the maid girl tidied up Syrena's room. A puff of dust immediately surrounded the room, making the princess cough.

"Sorry, Your Majesty!" the maid girl brushed off the dust on Syrena's face.

"Don't worry, I'm fine," replied the brunette princess, gesturing for the maid to return to her work.

"This is better!" Syrena said, satisfied when the maid girl finished cleaning her room.

"Thank you for helping me. What's your name?" asked Syrena.

"It's my duty, Your Majesty. My name is Evania." The black-haired maid introduced herself.

"Does Your Majesty need anything else?" she asked.

"I want to clean myself up before going to bed. Can I get some water?" Syrena asked, but the servant girl didn't answer right away.

"Evania? You're daydreaming!" scolds Princess of Ruxenia.

"Ah... Sorry, Princess! Prince Agenor didn't allow the Princess to come out of the basement...."

"What?" Syrena frowned.

"Is that guy crazy? I don't mind staying here. But, not being allowed to take a shower, that's too much!" said Syrena angrily.

Princess Ruxenia stepped out of the room with her hands tightly clenched.
