Without him

Prince Ken didn't like the way his bestfriends were hanging out without him. He stood by his window and watched them having a good time without him. Elle was laughing at something Niel said. He waited impatiently for the morning sun to pop out as it was still dawn.

Situations like this always made him wish he wasn't royalty. He didn't even know what was the big deal in him going out of his room before the crack of dawn. No one ever cared to tell him the reason behind the rules he was supposed to abide by anyway.

But then rules are meant to be broken anyway. Besides it isn't like like this was going to be the first time he broke them. He knows his father will be very mad at him while his mother will be very disappointed but then he didn't know why his legs were itching to drag him over to where his bodyguard and lady in waiting were because even though he knew whatever they were doing or talking about was all innocent, he just couldn't shake off the jealousy that clouded his heart at the fact that his love was laughing at another man's jokes.

Before he realised it, his feet was dragging him towards the backyard where his body guard and lady-in-waiting were sitting.

They were both lost in their laugh they didn't notice him.

" Care to share the laugh with me?" he said behind them.

They both jumped up and immediately showed their respect to him which he rolled his eyes at.

" Your Highness, what are you doing outside at this time " questioned Niel his ever- cautious bodyguard.

"What? Can't I stroll in my own father's castle anymore?" he shot back and narrowed my eyes at him.

He immediately denied it when he got what he meant.

"No...no Your Highness. I didn't mean it that way"

Prince Ken understood what he was implying but can't help but be mean at him for what he made him feel earlier.

" Hey, stop being mean to the poor guy" Elle retorted.

So now she's defending him.

" You know that's not what he meant. He's just doing his work."

Prince Ken just rolls his eyes at them and settles himself down beside the fire, causing his two friends to do the same .

After settling down, the both stare at him expectantly.

" What?" he asks

Elle shot him a don't-pretend-you-don't-know look.

"You haven't answered Niel's question".

"What is there to answer anyway. Isn't it obvious?

"You know you can't break the rules. Especially when you're almost done with the ritual. "

"What's the big deal. I'm just doing them a favor and breaking the rules a tad bit earlier than the initial plan." he shrugs at that " what can I say? I'm a genius after all " he offers her a mischievous wink at which she rolls her eyes.

" So are you ready for today?" Niel inquires.

" I was born ready"

They spent the rest of the time talking about everything and nothing under the breezy early morning sky.

At the first sign of morning, a maid came over to the trio. She curtsied and kept her head low.

" Good morning, Your Highness. The king and Queen request your presence and that of your bodyguard and lady-in-waiting in the throne room immediately." she relaid.

"We'll be there " Ken replied, dismissing the maid. She curtsied and retraced her steps before turning around and leaving.

Standing up, Ken stretched his hand towards Elle and helped her up. He led the way with Niel and Elle two steps behind him.

Elle couldn't help but scoff at the way the maids were trying yo steal glances at the two males she was walking with. Even though she knew they were the hottest males among their peers, she thought it was naive of them to want what was too far from their grasp. She couldn't comprehend why they try reach out to something that was clearly unattainable.

Besides, these two guys were more log than human. She was yet to meet any male that snubs girls like these two statues.

Niel who was three years older than the Prince and five years her senior, with his killer body has broken the hearts of many ladies, both noble and common. His dark brown hair coupled with his hazel eyes and perfectly sculpted face never fails to attract girls to him. Unfortunately for the girls, he doesn't even spare them a glance when they try to flirt with him much less notice them. All he cared about was his duty to the Royal family.

Ken however was another shade of worse when it came to female affairs. The only females you see him talking to was his mother, Elle and her mother who was his mother's personal maid and his nanny. All other females, he totally ignores as if they never even existed. All marriages his father tried to arrange for him always ended with the girls breaking them because they couldn't stand the cold shoulder he always gave them. His shoulder length raven black hair and his dark eyes seemed to always draws ladies to him like moth to light.

Elle snapped out of her thoughts and stole a glance at him. His broad back and regal steps were just breathe taking. He just kinda gives off the royal vibe.

The announcing of their presence brought Elle out of her thoughts. Walking after the Prince, they trio walked into the Royal throne room.
