18. Pink Flower

Jane Dover had been standing on the balcony of the top room of the palace, which was her bedroom, looking at the stunning garden where she used to walk every evening at this time. But today, she was having pain in her body due to the cold she had caught, so she could not go.

Perhaps this was not the most significant reason for not going, because when she came here, seeing the garden, she wanted to go and walk for a while, but when she saw a familiar young man over there, she was dumbfounded and changed her intention. She kept staring at him from the top and kept thinking about him more and more.

That night, when she talked to him on his back, he did not reveal that he was Vrinda Simard, not her Darius Simard and let her clung to him.

Instead of warning her, he embraced her tighter. She suddenly felt goosebumps and hugged her chest when she recalled that embrace. It seemed that he embraced her deliberately.

Jane Dover frowned slightly and that mess vanished from her mind but her gaze was still on him. It seemed that he was feeling alone and enjoying his own company. It didn't seem that he was deliberately waiting for her over there but she realised that he was also visiting that peaceful garden to share his loneliness. And then she retained that he has suppressed many secrets and sorrows in his heart.

Jane Dover's mess came to an end when Darius Simard tightly encased his arms around her thin waist.

"Ah..." She was so engrossed in her thought that she didn't realize that the person holding her was her husband.

"You gave me a fright." She held her chest in hysteria.

"Am I that scary?" He asked in his inferior voice while placing his chin on her shoulder.

Jane Dover looked at his palms near her navel with a gentle gaze then slowly placed her palms on them.

"No. I don't want to be afraid of you, but I do feel scared." She wanted to be more honest because he had finally thrown his anger. He rubbed his cheek on her bare shoulder while saying seductively, "Don't be afraid of me, Jane. I want to protect you."

Jane Dover smiled and left his embrace while saying, "Is it true?"

"Take a try." He smiled wickedly which made her uneasy and she quickly lowered her eyes.

"I trust you." She wanted to ignore those serious conversations which would typically arise sexual desire between them.

When he heard her low voice, he smiled proudly and held her palm quickly.

"Come with me." His eyes were bright.

"Where?" She was impatient.

"It's so cold outside, but you don't wear warm clothes, you have caught a cold already." He was unhappy about her imprudence and she bit her lips while sensing apologetic.

"I was thinking of going to the garden but..." She suddenly spoke in her suppressed voice.

"I know you love the garden and that's why I ordered this room to be decorated with flowers so that you don't miss the garden. But there seem to be fewer flowers in the room." He looked around the room while twitching his mouth and she widened her eyes.

"Flowers are not more negligible." Her tone was high but when her gaze met his deep gaze, she lowered her head in panic and said, "The room cannot be made into a garden…"

He looked at her affectionately while holding her both palms gently and asked, "Are you really missing the garden so much?"

Jane Dover looked at him sadly and nodded like a child.

"My goodness." He did not wait and dragged her into the bedroom where he put the warm coat on her shoulder and brought her to the garden to fulfil her wish.

A gust of cold wind had quelled Jane Dover's agony and troubles a bit, and Darius Simrad's arms comforted her. In the flower-filled garden, she had been standing in his arms as if she needed nothing more...

It was too late and she hadn't let go of Darius Simard's warm arms yet, he knew she hadn't slept.

Crow… Crow…

Darius Simard raised his head and looked at the crow on the branch of the tree as if he was warning Jack. The crow flew away to save his life and left the couple alone.

Slowly, she raised her head from his chest and they looked at each other deeply. She could see herself in his affectionate eyes which made her worried even more.

"Do you want to say something?" He caressed the back of her head and asked affectionately.

Jane Dover looked at him like she wanted to say that she felt happier when he was around her but her words were locked in her dry throat because of his seductive gaze as she was afraid that he would start kissing her in the garden if she would react seriously. His kiss was often wild and passionate so she was afraid that she could not control herself this time.

It was true that she was forced to carry his child yet she was afraid that she could not kill him because day by day, he was treating her so well.

Darius Simard could read her panicked face and so he held her face after deciding that he would kiss her right now but suddenly, her gaze shifted from his handsome face and he became considerate. He left her face and turned back to look at Vrinda Simard who had been standing in front of him with his dark gaze. Jane Dover lowered her gaze feeling ashamed in front of Darius Simard.

"Looks like… I bothered both of you." Vrinda Simard smiled slyly and Darius Simard's gaze turned more unlit. Vrinda Simard looked at the thin woman beside Darius Simard who had already lowered her head.

He smiled and asked casually, "Did you like that pink flower which I had given to you?"

Jane Dover trembled slightly when she heard this and looked at Vrinda Simard in panic.

"Did she give it to you or hid it?" He asked casually to Darius Simard and Jane Dover raised her head and looked at her husband while quivering. She could see his dark eyes turned terrific after hearing this and she bit her lips with fear. She did not want to ruin the moments she was spending with her husband so she decided not to inform him.

Darius Simard smirked after a long time and looked at Vrinda Simard with his playful eyes.

"Loneliness seems to have taken a serious impact on your memory that's why you don't remember that Jane Dover is your younger brother's wife." His voice was low and Jane Dover could see that he was speaking without any panic.

"This marriage did not ensue in front of me, so it has become a bit difficult to believe that YOU are married to her." Varinda Simard did not wait to insult.

Darius Simard raised his thick eyebrows with interest after hearing heavy 'YOU' and said, "I had forgotten that you can not handle difficult things."

"Who would not be able to handle difficulties, it will be known only after the difficulties come." He had a bitter smirk on his dark lips.

Darius Simard smiled playfully and spoke casually, "So this is it, I thought being alone is the biggest difficulty for you."

The bright face of Vrinda Simard turned darker and his eyes became I'm when he listen to this bitter sarcasm.

"Sorry, I'm hungry so I'll have to leave without hearing your answer. But next time please come with preparation so that the debate becomes a bit interesting. Brother."

Darius Simard's way of calling 'brother' was showing his victory over Vrinda Simard and he smiled at him as if he was proving him. He turned his head and looked at Jane Dover with his affectionate gaze.

"Darling, let's go."

Jane Dover looked at him with her questioning eyes and Darius Simard held her palm then dragged her away. While passing by Vrinda Simard who was standing over there like a bridge, she lowered her eyes in panic but when she left, Vrinda Simard turned back and looked at the back of that defenceless woman with a mordant smile. It seemed that he had suppressed unknown sorrow in his heart.

After having dinner, Darius Simard did not talk to Jane Dover and kept drinking wine in the bedroom while sitting on the couch. But here, her heart was racing due to his apathetic behaviour. She was sitting in front of the mirror for a long time while looking at her handsome husband who was a bit panicked. She knew that she was the reason that he was behaving like this so she seized the opportunity to talk to him.

In a black silky nightgown, she was looking slimmer and salacious. Her long and brown hair was swinging near her waist when she stood up and walked near Darius Simard. When he continued drinking without looking at her, she noticed that he was already drunk and his sweaty face and red eyes were terrible. When he was about to gulp a glass of wine, she said, "Please, don't drink that much."

Darius Simard raised his head and looked at her with his red eyes as if he was mad at her.
