"Alright, alright. Let's say that you've really quit the game tutorial. So, how did you do that? From what I know, there is no such a case in the game. The game developer didn't design anything like that." Mea, who appeared to be less interested, walked towards the kitchen nearby as she asked. She might as well prepare some food for them to eat breakfast.
"Mom is right. If you really quit the game tutorial, how could it be that you are the only one who has done such an action?" Nethaia approved her mom, as she asked. It seemed like she also lost her interest as she walked toward the couch nearby. Since she was hungry, she might as well wait for her mom to finish preparing breakfast for them.
"You two... Don't you really believe in me?" Vi had a darkened expression overwhelming his face. He couldn't believe that these two wouldn't even believe in him in the slightest. He gritted his teeth and stomped his foot on the floor as he glared at his elder sister and responded indignantly, "As I already told you many times before, the game capsule might be broken! Unlike any other game tutorials that the other players have gone through, mine has five incredibly strong level 1 slimes that can use the world's mana. But last night, after grasping how to use the world's mana as well, I managed to finally kill them all. I thought everything would end there. But those five slimes actually respawned! Not only that, but at that time, they are ten times stronger, leaving me no choice but to run away in fear. When I reached the boundary separating the game tutorial from the other area, I tried my hardest to enter through the barrier in order to escape from those slimes. It was painful but I have managed to do so with the help of the world's mana. That was how I quit the game tutorial. The system even gave me a curse as a result of my action."
"So, why can't you beli... You... Where are you, big sister?!!" Vi had just finished explaining things to his elder sister when he found out that she was nowhere to be found on the couch anymore. He couldn't help roaring furiously as he went mad looking for his elder sister.
Only to find her bringing dishes to the dining table helping their mother.
"Vi, come over. Let's eat breakfast!" Nethaia suddenly called out in a pleasing voice as she sat on the chair after placing all the dishes upon the table. She had a wide smile on her face and her golden eyes were sparkling. She was even drooling, not minding her appearance at all. It was obvious that she had been starving long ago as she wanted to eat already. Or perhaps, she really didn't care about what she looked like whenever she ate with her family.
Nethaia didn't wait for Vi's response as she started digging in. The soft and hot rice accompanied by crispy fried chicken entered her mouth immediately, removing all the hunger she felt.
Home-made food was really always the best!
Vi, on the other hand, found his eyebrows twitching together with the edge of his lips. Veins even bulged on his head out of frustration as he had this urge to give his elder sister a good beating.
But what else could he do? She was his big sister after all. Putting aside that she was scarier than their mother when she got angry, there was just no way he could hurt her. Even if he tried, he would only end up being beaten black and blue instead.
In the end, Vi could only suppress his indignation as he went to the dining table to join his mother and elder sister at their breakfast. As helpless as he was, since these two didn't want to believe in him, there was nothing else he could do. He might as well keep his achievement to himself since no one would even believe him to begin with.
With that in mind, Vi ate his meal together with the people who were the closest to him. But annoyingly enough, only these two kept talking with each other as they ate. They laughed for joy while chit-chatting with each other, completely ignoring him.
As such, he had a darkened expression written all over his face as he felt out of place with those two women before him. It also seemed like these two didn't want to take the initiative to talk with him. He could only remain silent the entire time since their topic was beyond his understanding. Was girl's talk always this hard to comprehend? Vi could only take a bite of fried chicken and a spoon of rice indignantly.
"Speaking of which, how did your transfer to the Tyrannical Overlords go? Do you have any problem with them? Did they make things difficult for you?" Mea suddenly asked. Finally, Vi heard something interesting where he could listen attentively.
"Sigh, I will be transferred there by next week. They allowed me to spend some of my time together with my former guildmates." Nethaia replied, a hint of sadness was gleaming in her golden eyes.
"Sigh," A similar gleam could be seen in Mea's eyes as she sighed deeply. "Is Dragon Quest really that difficult? How come they had managed to complete it?"
"For us small guild, that quest is surely next to impossible. But for them who have many High Rankers under their wings, completing such a quest is within their grasp. If not for those bastards making things difficult for the White Night guild, we wouldn't even dare to accept such a challenge." Nethaia answered. Anyone could immediately tell the hint of anger blended in her voice. She could only tighten her grip on the spoon she held, feeling helpless with the current predicament their guild had suffered.
Was this all due to her? Nethaia only had this thought in mind. If she had just submitted to Tyrannical Overlords instead of retaliating, then probably...
"Don't worry big sister, as I told you earlier, I will come and get you back. That's a promise." Amidst the atmosphere getting colder and colder, Vi suddenly spoke from the side to give warmth. His voice contained great determination as hearing him alone could as though give rays of hope. If not for the fact that Nethaia knew that he was just a level 1 player who couldn't even help himself, then she might have believed in him already that he could get her back from the Tyrannical Overlords.
But why was it that when their eyes met, Nethaia couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort and assurance? Did her younger brother really become that capable? How come was he able to dispel the sadness and unease she felt in her heart?
Thinking about it, Nethaia couldn't help but smile. Since her younger brother gave off that kind of look, she might as well go along with him as she replied, "Alright, I will wait for you, my younger brother. Come get me back and punish those bastards who abducted your beloved beautiful sister. That's a promise."
