Amanda Heyes is a struggling children's book illustrator who is invited to look after her editor's remote mountain home for the winter. She hopes it will be a chance to paint and work without worrying too much about rent but instead finds herself drawn toward a huge white wolf and his two pups.

When the wolf turns out to be a shifter named Levi, everything changes for Amanda, as she quickly finds herself drawn to Levi despite his rough exterior. 	Amanda opened her eyes slowly to birdsong, morning light gently waking her from her sleep. She smiled when she felt Levi’s arm tighten around her waist and wiggled back into him, plastering her back to his chest. A moment later, he nosed at her throat, kissing behind her ear.


	“Go back to sleep,” he said. “The pups are still out cold.”


	“Humans,” she sighed in agreement. “Always ruining the moment by getting hungry.”


	“They’ll be asleep for at least another few hours, based on how tired they were last night,” Levi said, hopefully. “If you just grab a snack…”


	“You’re insatiable.” She turned around in his arms, grinning, and then moaned when his hand slipped down past her belly, traveling steadily lower. “But also very convincing.”


	“Unfortunately,” she said, untangling their limbs, “My stomach is posing an ultimatum.”
