Amanda Heyes is a struggling children's book illustrator who is invited to look after her editor's remote mountain home for the winter. She hopes it will be a chance to paint and work without worrying too much about rent but instead finds herself drawn toward a huge white wolf and his two pups.

When the wolf turns out to be a shifter named Levi, everything changes for Amanda, as she quickly finds herself drawn to Levi despite his rough exterior. 	It was a grueling week of traveling through the woods before they finally made it to Levi’s territory. From there, it was only another day to the heart of the pack, and along the way, Amanda saw plenty of wolves. When they finally arrived at the pack’s heart, Amanda was greeted by three small stone buildings, and to her utter amazement, the foundation of a new house already under construction.


	Garrett loped up to them in human form. “So, you convinced her to come, huh?”


	“She convinced herself,” Levi said with a grin. He threw his arm around Amanda’s shoulders. “I had to double back for her.”


	“Lucky dog,” Garrett laughed. “Well, Amanda, we’re not very far along on the house yet, as you can see. But you’ll have lodgings in the community house until then, if you don’t mind it.”


	“Is this all your stuff?” He eyed the sparse luggage that she and Levi were carrying.
