Sol walked back to the hotel at a brisk pace. His sneakers splashed against the puddles of a fresh spring rain and he took a moment to breathe in the fresh air deeply. He needed just a moment to focus before the confrontation came his way. He was tired of living in a Hotel, but slightly grateful that it provided some protection for his mother in the form of watchful eyes. The Sheriff couldn't pull as many tricks in a public space as he could in a private residence. Meeting at the hotel worked to Sol's advantage.
While his friends had agreed to be on standby, he knew that he had to face both his mother and the officer alone. It would be too weird for all of them to show up, especially with her knowing so little. Sol could already see that it was going to get more difficult to hide this from her even if it didn't turn out badly this particular time.
