Dante's heart fell into his toes when he went to the dungeon and found that Nora wasn't there. Her scent was faint. It had been fading ever since her hair grew back. It was hard to detect her. Frigid terror froze his blood as he ran through the pack house trying to find her. 


'Kai will know where she is,' Kano reassured him.


'You're right.' Dante thanked his wolf and sought out Kai. 


Kai was in the pack house lobby, crouched next to Nathan. The witches flitted around the pack house, tending to the wounded. Those who weren't gravely injured were left in the main lobby, while those needed more care were moved to the guest rooms. 


Nathan's shirt had been removed and a large bandage was wrapped around his chest. 


"Kai!" Dante called out as he approached them. "Nora is gone! She's been taken! We have to find her!"


"No, it's fine," Kai soothed him. "The witches have her and are treating her. Her parents are with her."
