Chapter 40: Complete

The witches explained that because Nancy was the one to enchant her hair in the first place, the enchanting of a hair pin to seal away the hair's draining effects worked. The pin was one from Nora's infancy, passed down through the maternal line. It was a simple golden, with a crystal flower on the end. It was slipped on, pinning the right side of Nora's now long river of locks behind her ear. The Daughters of Elysium had spent all night braiding it, keeping it up and out of her face. 'Her beautiful face,' Dante thought.

He held that face in his hands, wiping away an errant tear with his thumb.

"Is it really you?" he asked. "Are you here?"

Nora cupped his face with her small hand. Her touch spent sparks flying across his skin, waking up every nerve ending in his body.

"Yes," she whispered. "I'm here."

Dante leaned in to kiss her, but a commotion careened into the greenhouse. It was symphony of celebrating voices, crying and laughing at the sight of his mate.

It was mostly Kai.
