My free hand swept around her and pressed her lower back, so we crushed together. The hand that was in her hair dug in and cupped the back of her head. Tingles spread from every point of contact until my body was on fire. I burned for her. 

I harden against her.

Tallia gasped, but didn't pull away. She stared up at me in awe with her pupils blown wide. The scent of our arousal mixed and swelled around us. 

Her hands came up to my chest and her fingers dug in, like she'd claw me if I even tried to pull away. 

"I'm done running, my mate," I said in a low growl.

I ate breakfast in my office as usual the next day, then sat there staring out the window. I didn't want to work. A break was long overdue. All day, every day, I worked, and it was exhausting. 


As usual, thoughts of Tallia filled my mind. I wanted to see her and spend time with her. 


Without further thought, I stood and left my office in search of my mate, shoving a hard candy in my mouth as I went. 


I found her downstairs in one of the small sitting rooms talking to a delta male. He was laughing and staring at my Luna Queen like she was the center of his whole world. 


A low growl built itself up in my chest, but quickly dissipated when Tallia caught sight of me and smiled. It was a smile just for me, brighter and better than the polite one she'd been giving to the delta. 


I chomped down on my candy and swallowed it.


Tallia said something else to the male, then patted him on the back and headed for me. The male cast us a glance before leaving out the other door.
