Chapter 38: I Want You

BRYANT

From the edge of the woods, I stared at the pack before me. Zarron was at my side, along with a handful of warriors.

“There’s no one here,” Zarron said.

I nodded. There were a few families milling around, all of them looking underfed and weary, but no warriors, no strength.

“So, the question is, where is your brother?”

I sighed. This was not a good sign. My brother’s pack was huge and for all the warriors to be gone meant he was doing something dirty. Likely trying to take over another pack. My pack.

“I’d hoped to speak with him and clear this up,” I admitted.

I’d wanted so badly to be wrong, but this was damn near a confirmation of our suspicions. He could still be going after another pack, but that was really the only other option. An Alpha didn’t take his pack warriors away unless they were going to war.

And with what was going on with my own pack, this was d*mning evidence.

“Let’s go,” I said.
