Chapter 15

Jacob flinched violently as Ivory wiped at the numerous wounds over his face. “Damn, woman, that hurt,” he whined. She backed off a moment as he calmed, flashing a smile at her. “Alright, let’s keep at it.” Until that moment, he hadn’t taken his eyes off the front door since she began, not even to admire the beauty beside him.

Ivory hadn’t stopped smiling since she’d returned to the barn, nothing in the entire world could have felt better than helping Joshua recover from his massive collection of recent wounds. Cleaning them, seeing all the others which were considerably aged, she longed to have been there for him in the past during his obvious trials.
