Chapter 24

“Joshua, want another beer?” Brody questioned, up at the bar turning to face his friend who was in the booth at the back by himself. After getting a thumbs up from Joshua, Brody turned to the bartender and smiled, “Two beers and two shots of your cheapest whisky, my good barman.”

In all reality Joshua didn’t want another beer, and without hearing Brody make the order he didn’t want a shot of whisky, but he was there so he had to go along with it until it was time to go. He wanted to be sitting on a quilt under the stars with Ivory and a bottle of wine, he wanted to see that little face of hers grow massive in laughter, he wanted more than the cheap bar after another night of breaking his back for the man.
