Chapter 34

Joshua, wearing a mask of shock, looked to his brother who wore a suit of forged iron and stone. A moment later the bar erupted into a frenzy of screaming and shouting and exchanging drunken insight. The grayed townsman joined in the chaos to take back control of the room, it didn’t take long for him to once again be the center of attention as he now stood atop the bar, pumping his fist to garner attention.

“Everybody, everybody, please!” The townsman said, “listen to me!” He paused, catching his breath in preparation for the news he had to deliver. “They been found in the Sheriff’s home by his wife upon her return from visiting family. Each of em were stabbed multiple times and left for dead.” The crowd erupted once more, and once more he fought to hold the crowd. “Henry Irons, the man responsible for the security you been seein around town, they tellin everybody to get inside and stay there!”
