Epilogue Part Two
Joshua walked past a marching fleet of floor workers, everyone exchanged greetings amongst a cloud of smoke, soot, and sweat. He entered the long corridor of offices, stopping at Henry’s, taking a breath before knocking three times. He put his ear to the door when nobody answered, noting immediately that somebody was certainly moving around inside. He knocked again, one-two-three.
“Joshua?” Henry roared from the other side of the door, then a crash of what sounded like wood and furniture. “Joshua, is that you? If it ain’t then you better kiss your ass goodbye, whoever you are.” Things were stacked up against a wall.
Joshua bit his tongue to keep from laughing. “Henry, it’s Joshua,” he said, as serious as he could pretend to be. “Mac told me you needed to see me about something.” A pause, which lasted several moments. “Henry?” He jumped as a glass bottle slammed down on what must have been a table.
