Some months had passed since Joshua Barker saved Ivory Irons and her father’s home and fortune from his brother Joseph and a town hellbent on chaos, bloodshed, and destruction. Since then he’d buried his brother, to whom he apoloigized every night for having taken his life, started his work at Henry Irons’ firearms manufacturing facility, and was granted stay at the Irons’ guest home to which Ivory was allowed to visit daily.
