I was sure I was close to shifting. The image of the russet wolf was fixed in my mind as a tingling rushed over my skin.
Suddenly, my concentration was broken by a voice from the bedroom doorway.
“I’m back,” the voice said. “Didn’t you miss me?”
I opened my eyes and leaped to my feet when I saw Grey watching me from across the room. He had finally returned!
Grey gave me that sexy grin that always made my stomach flutter. “What’s going on in here?”
“Nothing,” I said, stifling groan. As happy as I was to see Grey, the spark, tingling, and wolf image in my mind were gone.
But my disappointment faded away at the realization that Grey was home! I jumped up and threw my arms around his shoulders. Relief flooded my body as I pressed myself against his hard muscles.
“Excuse me, I need to check on Ash,” Lily said with a grin and left the room.
Grey’s arms went around me, and our lips met in a tender kiss.
