Anna Brown thought she was a normal girl in a normal world. But things become not-so normal when she stumbles upon a guy passed out on someone's lawn.

“Becoming…human?” I repeat slowly, to which he nods. “You can do that?”


“She can grant anything the winner desires,” he explains. “Remember? You asked me what I would use the blessing for, and I’ve finally come up with the solution. That way, I can continue college, graduate and go wherever I want to go, with you. We can just live life together.” 


Although it sounds like a wonderful dream and my face flushes just at the thought of it, I feel a looming pressure in the pit of my stomach. I can’t help but feel like we’re going about this the wrong way. 


“Are you sure about this, Ray?” I ask slowly, causing his smile to falter. “I mean, aren’t you the next Alpha in line? Won’t that hurt your pack?”


Ray lowers his head, brooding over my question.
