Chapter 41: King of the Hill

ORION’S POV

I squint out the blood dripping down into my eye. I have to give the young wolf props for his tenacity. Even though I battered him up pretty good, he’s still going. At this point, all of our rogues have killed each other and it’s just us left standing, panting from exhaustion.

“Ah, look what you made me do, Ashton.” I sigh. “I’m all tired and bleeding. I was hoping I could fight the packs in top shape, but you just had to ruin everything with your own agenda.” A glimmer of fascination sparkles in my eyes. “Not that I mind. It makes things more exciting.”

He groans. “Your mind is f*cked, Orion. Too f*cked to lead us. You cause nothing but problems left and right, it’s no wonder that it’s taken ages to get the rogues in the shape they’re in today. And all thanks to me, no less.”

Ashton spits out blood and gets back in his battle stance.

“Oh, so you want the crown now?” I laugh. “Well, you should’ve known I’m not just going to sit back and let you take it.”
