“Congratulations, Anna!” My adoptive mother gives me a big hug, along with her husband. “We’re so proud of you and Taylor. You’ve both worked so hard!” 


“Thank you so much.” I smile and hug them back, pulling away to see their happy faces full of pride. 


Looking back, I see everyone spread out across the field. The ceremony has officially ended and we were able to turn our tassels to the side, marking the end of a journey and starting anew. 


It feels good after working my a*s off all these years to finally earn my degree. I’m about to look for a certain wolf boy when I hear my adoptive parents call over their daughter. 


“Taylor! Come take a picture with Anna!”
