The machines steadily recorded the fact that Subject Z showed no sign of life other than slow, deep breathing and the thumping of his two hearts.


An oddity that puzzled the doctors. Why two? If they could have, they would have dissected him, split open his body, delved around inside. However, given he was one of a kind, they were loath to lose him. The original scientists put a lot of effort and money into creating Z and then thought they'd lost him during an unfortunate mishap that saw him escaped. Now that Chymera Tech Industries had caught him again, they wanted to get their money's worth.


A good thing CTI already had an installation that could not only contain him but also provided blood testing on the main floor. They'd had steady business since the pandemic freak-out. People and governments became more paranoid and vigilant. Most of the labs used unknowing techs handling the bloodwork as a faade to hide the true heart of Chymera below.
