Chapter 56

Dear Diary I hate skinny jeans. Why couldn't parachute pants come back in style?

I came into this world with a tail. Not a big one. Just a little wiggly nub at the end of my spine. Now, most people would have chosen to have it removed. Booked me in with the surgeon and sawed it right off.

My parents obviously weren't most people. For one, they realized immediately how special I was. And two, they were strongly of the opinion that decisions pertaining to my body belonged to me. What did that mean other than no chopping my tail? No earrings until I was old enough to make that decision on my own - and regretted for a few days given it hurt! Had I been a boy my dad said they wouldn't have circumcised me. I went through a few bouts of tonsillitis when I was young, but my parents refused to let them take those suckers out. Which, as it turned out, was a good thing because the doctors might have noticed I wasn't like other little girls.
