Ch-11
Serene brought a midnight blue dress for Adira to wear. It's a long dark midnight blue tulle dress that reached the floor. It's an A-line silhouette dress with a sweetheart neckline. And her tight corset accentuated her upper body curves showing her well-grown breasts cup size while revealing her slim waist. Even though Adira felt suffocated, she just grits her teeth till she finishes her breakfast. The dress was decorated with pleat slashes and with a small bow belt attached to the waistline with a lace-up hemline.
She wore a simple lower bun grazing her hair with beautiful pearls. Applying minimal makeup along with her red lipstick, she gave one last look to herself in the mirror.
That's when her eyes fell on the intricate wooden box on her table. Serene saw her daughter staring at a particular spot on her dressing table. Following her gaze, she noticed that there was an intricate box.
"Such a unique box. Guess not from the Elisaveta but the Valorine, hmm?" Serene teased.
Serene could see Adira's changes from the time she met Zaros. She could see a blissful life for her ahead. She hoped that things could work out for them.
"King Zaros sent me. I am supposed to wear this for the breakfast," Adira said with a slight blush.
It's a diamond necklace. It wasn't like any other diamond necklace, but it was grazed with many small white diamonds that made the necklace sparkle like a walking treasure. Adira's eyes widened in shock. She was surprised, it's not that she didn't get any valuable presents but it's that this kind of thing was a surprise. She has seen all kinds of beautiful diamonds and stones all thanks to her loving brother. But this kind of design and stones are just… ahh… she is in love with this necklace. It's not that she didn't like it. She always liked big diamonds but never wanted to wear small diamonds as she thought that was not easy to handle them. But now seeing their beauty she couldn't help but admire them.
She ran her fingers on the beautiful necklace. The necklace was cold, the coldness seeped into her fingers which sent tingles into her body making her feel butterflies flutter in her stomach.
"You will be beautiful in this necklace and those studded earrings," Serene said taking the necklace from Adira's hands. She quickly unhooked the necklace and helped Adira wear it. She helped her with earrings too.
"Let's change your hair clip," Serene said.
"Why? It looks good," Adira said. The pearl clip in her hair looked good to her. She wondered what made her mother change the clip.
"Indeed, it's good. But this clip would look good on you," Serene said. The clip has golden leaves and white petals. It looked beautiful on her.
"You look like a goddess. I am sure your soon-to-be husband likes you this way," Serene said making Adira blush.
Adira, as a princess got ready for many occasions but this was the first time for her to get ready for someone. She internally wished that he would like her and compliment her. She wondered how he would react seeing her like this. After all, she got up early and took a nice bath, and then got ready for him. And every little thing on her body she was wearing was for him. Will he notice her effort?
She hoped he did.
She let out a small sigh.
"We shall leave," Adira said.
"Yes, yes. I would like to see the King's reaction," Serene said.
"Mommmmmmmmmmmm, Please," Adira drawled asking her to put an end to her teasing.
"What? I just want the king to not be disappointed with you. After all, you don't like him, right?" Serene said with genuine concern. Not the sarcasm.
"Mom, I don't h…" Adira shut her mouth when she realized what she was about to say.
"You don't? What?" Serene asked.
"We are getting late," Adira reminded.
"Yeah… yeah," serene said teasingly.
"Which mother teases her daughter like this?" Adira muttered as they started walking.
"I," Serene said without feeling offended instead she felt proud about what she did.
"I wonder who is the daughter and who is the mother," Adira said exiting the doors.
"One has to be a daughter while the other is a mother. You act like a mother and I am forced to act like a daughter. Not my fault," she shrugged as she said.
"Mom, when I have a daughter, I will make sure she is well disciplined and was grown up like a proper lady. I will make sure she will not get a single trait of yours," Adira said.
"So you are thinking about your future with him. Do you mean it's fine for you to have him as your husband and have children with him? I see," Serene said as she wriggled her brows at her.
"Seriously, why are you here? I thought you wanted to accompany me till I leave this place. That's why I allowed you to do whatever you want with my servants. Now, I am regretting," Adira said as she rolled her eyes.
"My dear daughter, behave like a lady. We are nearing the dining hall," Serene said.
Adira abruptly stopped when she was about to enter the hall. "Mom, if you dare to tease me, I will pour oil on your white dress. You won't be able to wear it ever in your life, got it?" she warned her mother, not noticing that someone was hearing her cute warnings from the other side of the room. Zaros chuckled surprising his sister beside him.
Lenora looked at her brother with surprise. She never heard him chuckle like this. But she was sure it must be because of Adira. Even she heard her cute warning. She could imagine her brother having a cute little darling daughter roaming here and there.
"Where I am teasing? I am stating the truth. You are the one who said you wanted a daughter with the vampire king. And you are the one who was staring at the necklace all the time. I pointed them out. And that's all. Now you are all hot to me!" Serene whispered yelling at her daughter. Adira's jaw hung open at her mother's words.
"Mom, I warned no more than this," Adira said.
"Well, I won't do anything till the king compliments you," Serene said with her narrowed eyes.
"Even if I am dressed in rags, brother will say I am the most beautiful one in the world," Adira said as she rolled her eyes.
"I am talking about your husband," Serene said. But her eyes widened when she saw someone behind Adira's back. But she swiftly calmed down and smiled at him which was went unnoticed by her daughter
"Uff… mom. You know what? I am hungry!" Adira said exasperatedly and turned around to walk into the dining hall but only to bump into a wall.
Wait.
From where does this wall come?
She was sure there wall no wall earlier. Did anybody cast a spell?
That shall be impossible.
"How come there is a wall here all of a sudden?" she mumbled slowly.
Rubbing her forehead as she lifted her eyes to take a look at the sudden magical wall, she saw someone that made her eyes widen.
