I will pick my Future Mother-in-law

Ch-12

"Uff… Mom! You know what? I am Hungry!" Adira said and turned around only to bump into a wall.

Rubbing her forehead, she lifted her head to see the magical wall in front of her.

"Ouch," she said slightly.

"My Lady, Would you like to join the table?" Zaros asked with amusement in his voice.

Adira cast her eyes downwards biting her lips for the embarrassment she made.

"Way to ruin the day again," she murmured in her low voice.

"Did you say something, My Lady?" Zaros pretended not to hear her.

"Nope," she said shaking her head.

All the Vampires in the room heard her words. Lenora felt her sister-in-law was too cute.

Zaros pulled a chair for her beside him. Adira just accepted his actions and sat down.

Serene joined the table, she settled herself beside the Queen Eudora.

Soon, maids started serving food. Vampires were served with blood in the wine glasses along with the food.

Adira started eating her food silently. Uff… she was so embarrassed today that she wanted to dig a hole and bury herself.

Finishing her food, she excused herself to her wing.

"My Lady," She heard his voice.

Uff… she heard the Himalayas in the human world were the frozen mountains. She wondered if they have melted at his voice.

[Aww… I am melting.] Leia said.

[Even me.] she replied to her wolf.

[My heart…. Uff… it is running like it was in a race.] Leia said.

[Let's turn around.] Adira said still trying to calm her fast-beating heart.

Looking at him with her shy lashes, she found him with a smirk that stole her heartbeat.

"My Lord," she said in a firm voice trying to show she wasn't affected.

"I heard you have a special garden. Can I take a look?" he asked with the same lopsided smirk.

That smirk… as handsome as looked on his handsome face, showed how dangerous he was.

"I am afraid, it would be inappropriate, My Lord," Adira said.

"It's 'Your Grace', My Lady," Adira heard Darick Melchoir's voice.

"The smelly elder is here," she mumbled under her breath only to be heard by Zaros. He smiled at her words. This girl was something.

"My Apologies, Your Grace," Adira said with an extremely guilty face. Zaros have to stifle his laughter at her sarcastic actions. This woman…. She was a real entertainer.

"I will take my leave, Your Grace," Adira said with a slight bow and was ready to leave.

Serene walked behind Adira. Lenora and Eudora thought Adira would agree to Zaros request but she declined it smoothly. Lenora could see she was affected by her brother, but she didn't fall for the temptation. She could sense an air of awkwardness between them. She wondered why. But again… she was disappointed that her fiance didn't show up for the breakfast.

"I will take my leave, Your Grace, Queen Mother," Lenora said and started walking away.

When she reached her room, she drew the doors and curtains together attempting to remove her upper layer. These werewolves wore thicker clothes than vampires. But again, Vampires can withstand cold but werewolves can't. It doesn't mean they can't but they weren't as resistant as Vampires.

Queen Mother Eudora made sure she started following the rules of the Elisaveta Kingdom. And it started with these thick clothes. She couldn't wait to get rid of these clothes.

Standing in front of her mirror, she called Celine her handmaiden.

Celine came and helped her remove her upper layer. "These clothes are unbearably thick," Lenora breathed after removing the thick coat.

"You will get used to these, My Lady," Celine replied.

"I shall," she said with a sigh.

"What do you want to do now, My Lady?" Celine asked carefully.

"Get the history books of the Elisaveta Kingdom. I only have general knowledge of this kingdom," Lenora said with a sigh.

"By the way, What is my Queen Mother going to do with my little sister-in-law?" Lenora asked in an amused tone.

"That I don't know, My Lady. But today everyone is supposed to meet the Great Witch of the Elisaveta before the sunrise. Werewolf King issued an order that he will have a meeting with the Vampire King and Vampire Elders after the breakfast," Celine replied.

"Why didn't he attend the breakfast?" Lenora asked curiously.

"Werewolf King has a habit of having his food in his chambers it seems, My Lady," Celine replied.

"Oh," she responded.

"You are excused," she added.

—---------

"Mom," Adira grunted the moment she entered her chambers.

"What is it now?" Serene asked rolling her eyes at her childish daughter.

"I don't like that smelly lord," Adira said with a frown.

"What do you mean?" Serene asked.

"That Vampire Elder aka Vampire Lord Darick Melchoir, Hmph! I don't like him," Adira said.

"Okay. Don't like him but be polite to him. And… you should learn manners well," Serene said.

"Mom, I have good manners!" Adira said shooting up from her seat with her puffed-up cheeks.

"Yeah, I can see that. I will teach you, etiquette classes, for you starting today," Serene said.

"Mom, I am learning them from my childhood. No Alpha's daughter learns these things but I do! Yet I learned them without any complaints!" Adira said infuriated now.

"Yet, you made mistakes. And you will have to learn about the Valorine empire's historical traditions. Queen Eudora specifically explained that she would be glad if she can help you with them. Do you want to be taught by me or her?" Serene asked as she crossed her arms against her chest.

Adira felt like she sinned to have a mother like this. Her mother's smug face was a sign of her future torment.

During her childhood, her etiquette teacher complained to Serene that Adira wasn't listening and following. Then the great Queen Serene entered the scene and taught her for a month. She realized her etiquette teacher was thousand times, oh oh oh no no no, her etiquette teacher was infinity times better than her mother.

Now… she doesn't want to go through that torture. Was there a way to escape this situation?

She heard Eudora taught Lenora personally and even King Zaros. She could see their cold faces. Oh no! Queen Mother Eudora looks further scarier than her mother Serene. But she has to agree Eudora taught her children better. Both her children were smart. She knew she wasn't as smart as Lenora.

But she has to agree that she admired her sister-in-law. She has charisma that made her stand out from everyone.

"I will pick my future mother-in-law," Adira said surprising her mother.
