Ch-74

Lenora felt dizzy when she tried to remember what happened two years ago. She knew something big has happened. But she has no memory of it. Her eyes rolled back into her skull making her flail her body a little. Closing her eyes, she tried to think normally and focus on her internal energy.

Sometime later, she opened her eyes which were filled with surprise and shock.

Lenora was surprised at the sudden memory that came into her mind. She remembered the past!

Her eyes watered at the memory. Victoria died saving her. She can't digest this fact. And who was that woman, Andrea? She needs to know more details, With her newfound memory, she can dig into the details more.

One thing she didn't understand was, why she remembered this memory now of all moments. Why couldn't she remember this in the past two and half years?

She needs more answers as her mind is clouded with more questions.

She looked at Adira who was still waiting for her answer.

"My sister was killed by Ophelia and someone else. But the next day, I was present beside my sister's body unconsciously. Without investigation, your husband concluded that I am the murderer, stripped me off titles, and made me bear the punishment for the thing I didn't do," Lenora summoned everything shortly.

"Do you know who is the other person?" Adira asked.

"Emperor Lich," Lenora answered.

Adira widened her eyes in shock. She didn't expect this. No wonder, Lenora refused to forgive her husband.

"I will keep my mouth shut on this," Adira replied.

"You know when to use your mouth and when to not. I am glad," Lenora appreciated as Adira answered her unasked question.

Adira gave a smile to her.

"When I go to the Vampira, I will try finding things for you," she said.

"Whom are you taking with you to Vampira?" Lenora asked.

"Chelsea," Adira replied.

"Only one maid?" Lenora repeated.

"You mean?" Adira asked confused.

"One can take two maids or two people with her when they enter the Vampire Royal family. You can take Kylie with you if you want. She said you and she are friends since your childhood. She loves you dearly," Lenora 'suggested'.

Adira just nodded her head. As she felt her sister-in-law was too caring towards her. If not, why would she give up her personal maid?

"You are too sweet, sister-in-law!" Adira said as she hugged Lenora tightly.

Only if she knew. Lenora just smiled at her.

"Now, you are ruining my dress," Lenora said as she pushed her overly excited little sister-in-law and neatened her creaseless dress.

"Ohhh…" Adira said as she drawled the 'ohh' longer than usual as she teased Lenora.

"Are you excited, sister-in-law?" Adira asked with a mischievous grin.

"When will be your consummation day?" Lenora asked.

"I have to ask mother," Adira said with a sigh.

"What is it?" Lenora asked.

"I need time to take that step," Adira replied.

"Or you need to confirm the change in your husband is real," Lenora added to her words.

Adira looked at her with wide eyes. But the shock stayed there for only a few seconds before recovering.

"Maybe" she replied. Because she cannot deny her claim.

"Which means he was not putting enough effort to prove his change. He deserves that. Don't back down," Lenora said with a calm expression.

"I thought you would support him," Adira commented.

"I would have if he hasn't been an idiot," Lenora replied.

"Still… I thought you would support him," Adira said.

"A man who cannot respect a woman is not a real man, he is just a sperm donor," Lenora replied as she jabbed her brother directly.

"I honestly don't know how to deal with this situation or him," Adira said after a few minutes of comfortable silence.

"Follow your heart. Play by your rules. If others don't do that, make them bend to you and your rules," Lenora said.

"Can I do that?" Adira asked doubtfully.

"Fate, situations, and time, make you do wonders. And your will play an important part. You can do it," Lenora said with a smile.

Adira gave her a grateful smile. Everyone looked at her as a kid and thought she couldn't do things properly. Even though she was known for her beauty, intelligence was something that nobody ever praised her for that.

Or no one even thought she was capable of doing something that includes intelligence.

Adira won't say she needs to use too much intelligence here. But she can say, a part of this thing needs her intelligence and patience.

"What If I didn't do a good job?" Adira pointed out her insecurities.

"Don't be scared of that. Scared of not even trying. Remember, it's better to do a poor job than do no job.

"And…when you don't let other's opinions enter your head, you will definitely do a good job," Lenora said like a mother teaching her child.

She gave a wide and grateful smile to Lenora. Lenora neither assured her that she would definitely do a good job nor said she will succeed. She just showed her what were the possible scenarios. And said her to follow her heart without any compromises.

"Do you trust me that I can do this?" Adira asked.

"I don't. I just believe that you will do this. When you go there you will be plotted constantly behind your back. It will only leave two choices to you. Death or survival. I know you are the kind of person who chooses survival," Lenora said as she patted her head.

Adira gave another genuine smile which was wider than her previous smile.

"Trust your judgment no matter what kind of position you are in. Remember the High Priestess's words to your brother. 'Use brain along with your heart,' It applies to everyone," Lenora said.

Adira nodded her head swiftly.

"Sister-in-law, Can I ask something?" Adira asked.

Lenora nodded.

"Do you accept my brother wholeheartedly?" Adira asked as she looked straight into her face and eyes as she searched for a trace of acceptance.

Even if she didn't find any acceptance, she knew she could do nothing. It's just that her heart was yearning to know the answer.

Lenora didn't expect this question from Adira. She was surprised at her question. She has to say she got Lenora here. Lenora wanted to say yes, but her words were not coming out. It's as if she couldn't bring herself to say yes.

Yes, she didn't even say yes to her husband. How could she say yes to her sister-in-law?

Or she doesn't know if she was talking too much time than needed. Maybe she was.

Or maybe she was being stubborn.

Can she accept this new start with him?

She wanted to. But she doesn't know how to.

"I am not sure about that right now. But I just want you to accept this relationship with me. I accept that I am hurt when he couldn't decipher the place of his sister and wife are different. I don't want to take risks to place my trust. But… I want to. Whether I like it or not, I have to live with him. So, I want to give it a try. As for having feelings for him… I don't know," Lenora said truthfully.

Adira nodded her head at her understanding of her situation. After all, even Adira was kind off in a similar situation. Her every word made sense. Even she felt similar feelings when her husband chose Lenora over her.

"Then, this mating, are you willing to do without accepting him completely?" Adira asked. She wanted to know if Lenora was okay with having sex without having feelings for her brother.

Lenora doesn't know how to explain this complicated thing to her. Before she could open her mouth the door creaked and the sounds of heels clicking against the floor were heard in the room.

Before they could continue talking about something, Serene and Eudora came to her to take her.

Lenora doesn't know if she has to be happy or sad. She was worried that both mothers heard her words or not. If they heard, this would be a disaster. But that doesn't stop this consummation moment. She has to go ahead willingly or unwillingly.

As for happiness, she doesn't have to answer Adira.

Serene gave a white bathrobe Lenora to wear over her skimpy clothes. Lenor just nodded her head and wore that robe over her clothes.

Then she was escorted to the chambers which she shared with her husband previously.
