Taking a Stroll

In any other night, the forest would be filled will all sorts of sounds made by small animals like birds and mice. Tonight however, is a bit more hushed than usual, and only the hypnotic sounds of the wind, leaves, and crickets can be heard.

To outsiders, it simply means that the night is peaceful, to the inhabitants of the forest however, it is not. The usual noise makers are afraid of making the slightest of sounds, in fear of offending the predator that is lurking among them.

"Ah… Jeez… Excuse me, sorry, little things, just passing though…" Rellandus chuckles, feeling the fear and submission that the wildlife is directing at him which he figures is caused by his clothes which are made of materials extracted from two predators.

He is simply taking a stroll and means no harm to anything, but is causing anything that moves, fear.

In addition to his shirt, pants, and undergarments that are from his first hunt that is the tusked beast, his trench coat, shoes, and his huge knapsack are made of snake leather he harvested from the giant snake that was his second hunt a few hours just after the first.

"I'll keep moving along." The afraid animals not getting on his way, he continues on his leisurely stroll.

It has been a few hours since his arrival in the realm and Rellandus is currently trekking the thick forest in the darkness of the night.

Feeling energized after eating two beasts, and can see through the dark, he decided to take a stroll to appreciate the natural beauty of this new world in which he found himself, with no particular destination in mind.

He also turned off his divine sense, wanting to enjoy everything with his barest senses.

During the past few hours, he had come up with a few more hypotheses which he fears are more likely to be true.

He feels as though the domain he is in does not belong to anyone, or was even birthed by one, which he finds extremely odd.

After all, in the God King Territories, mortal domains are born to existence inside Celestials like him, or inside God cultivators like his seniors, or inside his master Vroalagg who is a God King.

Only when such mortal domains mature to a certain point is when they would be brought out by its maker to a God King Territory.

This current domain however, does not show any signs of ownership. With his sense of energy as an exalted celestial, and his experience of sensing energies from Celestials, Gods, and God Kings, he does not feel that the basic spiritual energy belongs to, or is produced by some intelligent power.

He can only try and attribute his observations to him being no longer in the God King Territories, and therefore, the laws of life and domains in the God King Territories do not apply wherever he is.

He does not know where the term 'Endless Realms' was coined from, and for as long as he can remember, has taken it for granted as just a name for the boundless lifeless void beyond the God King Territories.

However, now that he has travelled it, he suspects that the term was coined by some being in the distant past, someone who just like his master Vroalagg, has surmised that there is indeed life outside of the God King Territories.

"Ah… whatever." He shakes his head and stops his speculations on the subject for now.

There are still many things he had not learned about the God King Territories, so comparing the God King Territories to the new world in which he found himself, is meaningless for the time being.

Instead, he chooses to relax for now and explore. Especially because everything feels new to him.

While he has lived the most part of his life in Vroalagg's higher levels of domains which are full of life, he always felt reserved about the level of order in them. Too orderly that there is not a single speck of wild and organic growth in it.

This place however, has a charming chaotic, wild, primal atmosphere in it.

It amuses him, and excites him, despite not feeling any danger in the short while he spent on it.

"Hm?" He raises his brows, seeing something out of place in the forest.

A tower made of stone and metal, obviously a structure made by intelligent life form due to its impeccable symmetry.

He can also feel that the structure is much warmer than its surroundings, and is producing a slight buzzing sound that would be undetected by mortal humans' ears.

The structure is also emitting a form of light that he figures no mortal eyes can see.

The sight intrigues him and he wants to take a closer look.

He wills himself to swim among the atmospheric Basic Spiritual Energy, making himself levitate off the ground and silently floats to the top of the structure.

After scrutinizing the top of the tower and the light waves that the structure is emitting for a few moments, he notices that the light is emitted in a certain frequency, at different patterns, and at incredible speeds.

This makes him suspect one thing; the structure is used to convey information through light waves.

Touching one of the metal bars, he also notices that the entire structure seems to be powered by a small amount of material lightning energy; electricity.

This confuses him. While the structure is man made, he cannot detect formations and seals that make what he is seeing possible.

He drops the matter for now and he flies back down to the ground, to the base of the structure where the temperature is at its warmest.

Not only is he interested in what produces the electricity in the base of the structure, but more so because of a metal trapdoor door at the base, with a faint smell coming behind it.

A smell that is familiar to him.

"Human..." He utters as he starts unlocking the door while suppressing the sound it might make.

Unlocking the door, he then enters the structure and finds that there is a space underground as evidenced by a short flight of stairs from the metal trap door he closed behind him.

Reaching the first sub-level, he sees a few things he recognizes; household objects.

While they look different, or are built differently to the household objects he had seen, they still hold the same purpose.

The first sublevel is comprised of a single wide room which he notices is a combination of a living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom.

Rellandus finally switches his attention on the object of his interest; a black-haired, fair-skinned woman, wearing skin-tight clothes, sleeping on a sleeping mat on her stomach.

He frowns, noticing that the unpleasant smell coming from the woman.

The smell might be tolerable, or even undetected to average mortal humans, but to him, the smell is almost revolting.

The woman is not dead of course, but simply needs some hygiene maintenance.

Not wanting to disturb the woman, he drops his interest of her for now and decides to look around.

He activates his divine sense once again and scans the entire underground structure to study it more.

A few moments later, he retrieves his divine sense, getting more clues in the situation in the place.

The empty water jugs and food storage tells him that the woman must have fallen asleep starving and thirsty.

There is also a large water storage which is now almost empty, which explains the woman's lack of hygiene and the smell coming out of the unflushed sanitary furniture.

The floor below contains some things he cannot yet understand, but figures contain the intrically made structures and devices used to maintain the functions of the tower.

Having looked around enough, he is now a bit more sympathetic of the woman's situation and is now more tolerant of her odor. After all, living in a structure surrounded by the dangerous wildlife and simply foraging for fruits and berries nearby can be life-threatening, hygiene is the last of the woman's priorities.

What he does not understand however is why the tower is located somewhere far from a body of water where the woman can fetch her much-needed resource.

*beep* *beep*

*dreeeennn*

*beep* *beep*

A high-pitched unpleasant sound suddenly reverberates in the room through the box-like object hanging on one corner wall.

Guessing that the sound is some sort of a danger signal that he must have triggered in some way, he immediately leans on the closest wall and casts a basic camouflaging illusion on himself, making himself look like he just merged with the wall.

It does not take long for the woman in the room to finally wake up.

*beee*

*driiimm*

Teresa is disturbed from her sleep when she hears a familiar sound.

She immediately decides to ignore it however and closes her eyes once again to go back to sleep.

*beep*

*drriiii*

*beep*

The familiar sound rings out again however, not letting her return to her slumber.

This time, she quickly sits up and listens to the ringing for a few seconds just to make sure that the sound was simply not a product of her imagination.
