You Pushed Her Into The Pool!

The girl panicked and ran outside. She was about heading to the garage when a hand pulled her back.

She turned around upset to see it was Ariel. Ariel's face was squeezed up In worry. She knew Tricia was an idiot. A sane person on fire would search for a way to extinguish the fire but she...

"Let go of me Ariel!" Tricia snapped, struggling to get free from her grip.

Ariel held tightly to her and drew her all the way to the school's swimming pool. For some seconds, seeing the latter wasn't struggling, Aruel loosened her grip a little and the girl took the opportunity to run out.

Unfortunately for her, she bumped into Hazel who stood in her way and fell into the pool with a loud splash.

Tricia swarm out, stiffly, she walked to Hazel and pointed a different to her face saying: "You! Do you have the slightest idea how much my dress costs?"

"Someone sold you an imitation, so it should be two thousand dollars" Hazel replied taking a closer look at the brand.

The reply got Tricia infuriated and she stomped out towards the garage. She threw a disdainful look at Hazel, got into her car and drove out.

A female student nearby rushed to Hazel saying: "Hello, I guess you're a new student. Why I'm here is to advise you to make a run for it. That girl doing let you off."

Ariel who stood beside Hazel couldn't help getting upset at the girls statement. Who the hell did Tricia think her father was?

Hazel stared straight at the girl and nodded: "Alright" then she turned and walked back into the school, Ariel trailing behind her.

"What class do you have first?" Ariel asked catching up with her.

"Physics"

"Same with me. We can seat together, that is if you want to." Ariel offered and walked ahead.

Staring at her from behind, Hazel smiled. The two walking together already attracted lots of attention and envy towards Hazel. But the fact she had a frown on her face made it seem like she was reprimanding Hazel.

She walked inside the almost filled hall. Glancing at where Ariel sat, she shook her head and searched for a more less crowded place.

Her eyes swept around the hall and she soon noticed the girl from the pool earlier, seating alone.

She strolled casually to her. On sighting Hazel, the girl's eyes lit up.

"Is the spot taken?" Hazel asked with a raised brow.

"No, it's not." The girl replied. Not standing on ceremonial grounds, Hazel sat on it.

Soon, the lecture began. Hazel stared blankly at the lecturer. Noticing strange movements beside her, she turned to see the girl trying to catch up with what was being said with pen and paper.

Hazel returned her attention back to her front but this time, penning down everything being said.

After the lecture ended, a make student from a different department walked in and shouted: "Excuse me fellow students, I was told a certain Hazel who wears a mask studies here"

The students who initially didn't know her name, turned to her direction hearing the latter part.

The girl beside Hazel held onto her panick-stricken. "Don't go, they won't let you off so easily"

Hazel stiffened at the touch, hurriedly, she got rid of the hand and breathed out in relief. She felt like she was about to suffocate being held by a stranger.

"If you want to continue being friends with me, please follow one rule: Don't ever touch me. No physically contact with me. Alright?" Hazel muttered and the girl nodded vigorously.

Hazel nodded, and turned to the boy who was patiently waiting for her. "I'm here. We can leave now"

"Also, don't worry about me I'd be fine" She muttered only to the hearing of the girl.

Hazel walked out with the boy and the gossipy students began their work.

"The moment I saw her reaction to Damon earlier today, I knew she was gonna get herself into trouble sooner" one of the students commented.

"Tsk, who wears a mask school. Perhaps she's terribly scarred" another commented.

"Sigh, she probably thinks we don't notice even such little details. I also heard from the security men she arrived in a taxi and not only that, she threatened them when they tried to give her some advice" a female butted in enraged.

"So, she's even a pauper!" A make student laughed.

A girl in the group who had kept mute, argued: "I've been watching her. Her temperament seems like one from a Nobel family. But maybe I'm just wrong. And also, the brand of clothes she had on is sincerely not a cheap one. I'm afraid even Tricia can't afford it"

The others fell silently pondering on what was said. One of Tricia's loyal followers flared up. "Imitation can be made. Tricia doesn't wear imitations, if she did she would have had that dress. Tricia has self value, but that new girl doesn't!"

The bitterness coming from her statement was raw.

Ariel who sat at the other end had been listening to the conversation, stared straight at the girl that made the comment and couldn't help laughing silently in disdain.

Tricia doesn't wear imitations? Ha!

She stood up about to leave when a girl jogged to her. At a closer look, She noticed it was the girl Hazel sat with.

"Ariel, can I have a word or two with you?'' She asked, biting down on her lips nervously.

"Okay" Ariel muttered and led the other girl to a more secluded and quiet place, "So what is it?"

"Hazel" the girl began, "I'm sure you saw when she was summoned and led away right?"

Ariel nodded, placing a hand on her jaw. The girl continued. "We both know she would be severly disciplined or worse still expelled by the school authorities. Ariel please help her. Like me, I know she's also from an average background and no doubt, the school means a lot to us."

Ariel almost laughed. Poor background? Was there a funniest thing she had ever heard than the saying?

Ariel stared at the girl, biting back her tongue from saying what was on her mind.

"Ariel" the girl nagged, seeing the other person was saying nothing.

Ariel waved her hands in a dismissive manner. "I wish I can help but my hands are tied. Besides, she can take care of herself, don't worry.''

The girl curled her lips disdainfully at the reply. Moving backwards she said: "All rich people gives no damn about anything or anyone else except themselves."

Then she turned around and left. Behind her, the corners of Ariel's lips spasmed. How she hated being told that.

.....

Hazel sat in front of the school's disciplinary board. Tricia and her father sat opposite her, a triumphant look in Tricia's eyes.

One of the board members stared fiercely st Hazel and scolded: "You still have the guts to dare to be forceful with us? In here? Now, take off the damn mask!''

Hazel pursed her lips, after minutes of hesitation, she did as told.

The jaws of everyone present fell. If it was animated, their jaws would have fallen to the ground.

Tricia who had always been proud of her looks felt utterly defeated. Looking at the beauty in front of her, she was totally invincible, she even doubted if Ariel could stand against her.

At the thought of it, the girl was green with envy and anger.

Coming out of his daze, one of the men shit his mouth and asked: "Why did you push Tricia Trueman into the pool?"

"She was burning" Hazel simply said.

One of the board members, a woman, scolded: "What if a fatality had occured during the fall? Or what if it turned out she couldn't swim."

"It would've been a shame. Kids from wealthy family are known for their expertise in such area of learning. If she didn't, it would have been a disgrace to her parents"

Everyone got stomped once again. The girl really feared no one but it was Trueman Yale's daughter that was being talked about.

"You've not answered the question" the woman warned. She was intent on winning the case. Then showing her sincerity to Mr Trueman, she would go extreme on the student and later on would find a way of currying favor with the man she helped.

She wasn't the only one who thought so, each and every of them did but could only keep mute seeing she had taken the initiative.

Hazel saw through the woman and shrugged with a smile. "I would've gone in search of a hose"

The other disciplinary board members nodded, they had finally gotten her to admit her fault. But that was just a wish, as the girl in question added: "But who knows how long it'd take to search for a horse, she might have burnt to ashes by then and I would simply flush it out through the WC. What do you say ma?"
