CHAPTER 17 : The Proposal
" Dad , why didn't you marry any of your girlfriends ?" I questioned .
Mom replied angrily , " Why , do you have any problem with me ?"
I said , " No , I just wanted to know the story , nothing else !"
Dad agreed and continued with his story and told us the reason . . .
Dad , " When I was in 11th , I took science stream as I wanted to become a doctor . But while playing football my hand broke , therefore I dropped 1 year . Then I rejoined the college and I had to take Arts stream due to few financial problems . My Dad , your grandfather died when I was just 1-2 months old . I didn't even got the chance to see his face .
The reason I broke up with two of my girlfriends was because I rejected the job as an engineer I was offered by their father . In those days jobs can be inherited .
After I took arts my interest went into business . Even the third break up was again due to job rejection . Her father offered me a job as a forester but I wasn't interested . Look son , you should always work according to your interest but it must not harm you future or your loved ones . Everything depends on your interest . . . The fourth and last break up was because her mother didn't liked me and so I wasn't married to her . She lived nearby your Aunt's house . . . Then I married your Mom , got a job in Guwahati and now I am living a comfortable life . "
This was my Dad's story . . . He was really a hard-working man . He earned his own ages and enjoyed life on his own money since childhood . He's really an inspiration for me . I really thank God for giving me such a caring family . . .
One day I was just checking the stories of my class 6 English book . At the last page I saw a number titled JERIN . . . My dopamine was released in a huge amount . By the way Dopamine is the hormone which keeps you happy . Even if I got her number but it was of no use because I couldn't use phones . My parents were too strict and never allowed me to use smartphones . Aaah FUCK ! ! !
But there appeared an Angel , it was my cousin brother Tony . He allowed me to use his phone and I was able to talk with Jerin after two years .
At first we did all those ' Hi , hello ' , and all those shits . Then we exchanged our photos . Ofcourse you want to know how the person looks if you didn't see them for years . . .
At night around 10 'o' clock after having our dinner I took Tony's phone again and started chatting with her . Then I told her everything , what I felt for her and all those Romantic stuffs . . .
