Leah stared in awe. How could all her friends trust her like that? How could they all follow her lead? What if she was wrong? What if she had just placed her friends into potential trouble? Her eyes showed clear fear.
"Okay so shall we take back the papers we left at the office?" Daniel finally spoke, breaking the silence.
All eyes turned to him. Well, specifically annoyed ones.
"Well, Daniel uhm... Maybe we can start here. Do you think it's safe to go back?" Leo asked.
"No... We can ask Scott can't we?" Daniel asked, his voice slightly quivering with uncertainty.
Wesley gave a loud and annoyed sigh.
"Scott?" Wesley scoffed, " He couldn't even hurt me that bad. You trust that little boy?"
"He could hurt you and he has a group of trained soldiers." Leah added, "If we have questions we can ask Scott can't we?"
"Really? Ask Scott? You really trust that lunatic?" Leo looked at Leah with absolute disappointment.
Leah stared back at Leo blankly. What could she do? Why did these two agreed to follow? They were opposing against everything they had just suggested. Daniel seemed to think alike with Leah. His face showed it all. The annoyed look mixed with anger and irritation. Well, the duo have definitely pissed him off.
Leo and Wesley noticed the tension changes, mainly Daniel's eyes. They immediately decided to stop talking. Amil however, decided that speaking up was a great way to defend Leah.
"Look, if everything we choose is wrong to you then I suppose you not to follow us."
"Actually, I ask of you not to follow us." Daniel rephrased Amil's nicely put statement.
Leo tried to open his mouth to argue back but was interrupted with a knock. The kids turned towards the source of the sound and opened the walls up with a press of the button located of the shiny remote.
They were greeted with Scott's team again.
"What do you want?" Leo asked, extremely annoyed. Not by Scott but the fact that he was just indirectly challenged by his friends.
"We just wanted to pass you the documents you let at the office. If you would allow us, maybe we could give you some information to apologise for the stab wound and to explain ourselves and maybe you will figure out a few things or so." Scott placed the papers on the white polished table.
"What do you mean 'figure out' ?" Daniel questioned in disbelief, "Do you not know the information about us and the reasons we are chosen?"
"Believe it or not," Scott sighed before lifting his head from the looking at the ground to the kids, "no."
The kids stared at each other in disbelief. So Allison and Odilia had just hired soldiers without any context? Who were these soldiers anyways? Were their names even on the record? Why did she choose these teenagers? Specifically teenagers? Leah mind would not stay quiet. Anxiety swallowed her whole. She was afraid to fail her friends.
"Oh it just shut up?" She whined internally.
It was not like she could really shut her mind up. Amil seemed to notice her stress. l mean, she was already picking her fingers and she could not stop shaking her leg. Amil placed his hands on her back very gently.
"Don't panic. Never show fear." Amil leaned in to whisper into her ear.
Leah could only nod . She did not have enough energy to speak.
" Mind you at least tell us why you joined forces with here?" Daniel questioned.
"Basically tell US how, what , when , where , why you joined forces with her. " Leo added for further clarification.
"So the whole story?" Scott asked.
Luna nodded.
"Well, in summary , Ferrah asked us to join forces with her but she chose us only because we were very much innocent. Of course, as actual humans, we declined however, we didn't know that Farrah wouldn't take no for an answer. She ordered for execution so Allison saved us. l can bring you to our hideout, if you trust us enough... l mean..." Scott trailed off.
"How about giving us some time to think?" Wesley suggested, a sarcastic smile on his face.
Scott seemed to be scared. Was there something they knew that the kids did not? A camera blinked consistently from a distance. The red light seemed to be talking. It blinked with pauses in between. Of course, it was a little strange. Luna looked at the light, just as confused. Why would the light keep blinking. She feared something would happen. Something ominous came over her. She did not know how to react. The kids requested to be alone one again. Scott and his team left, respecting them.
As the walls descended down once again, everyone was prepared to argue with one another. It was as if each and everyone of them had something to say. When the walls finally stopped moving, everyone mouths burst open, words overflowing the room.
"What the hell! We ae supposed to believe that?" Leo exclaimed.
"No!" Wesley spread his arms out, his voice filled with sarcasm.
"Well, we agreed to follow Leah did we not?" Amil asked.
"I would very much like to back the fuck out?" Wesley yelled.
"Well the doors ready." Daniel threw the controller down on the table as it slid towards Wesley.
Wesley sat down in defeat. It was apparent that everyone were so tense that even sitting was difficult.
"I'm sorry. Can I talk now?" All eye turned to Luna.
"There was a camera out there that was blinking consistently, talking in morse code. It said three letters 'N. O. W.' so anytime now something will happen. We might be being watched. Also, if you press anything on that controller it giving them signal that we are done talking, something might happen. Good or bad, i still do not like odds so choose. What do we do?" Luna sat back down and stared down at everyone. Waiting for them to speak.
Everyone was taken aback. Was silence and observance all they needed? They all stared at her, not a single word said.
"You know what?" Luna picked up the controller, "I prefer to die with these odds."
With that, she pressed the open button. This time the walls did not pen but the floor started to move down slowly.
"Oh what the hell!" Wesley looked over at Luna, annoyed.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Leo banged on the walls repeatedly.
Luna stayed silent with Daniel who was admiring her. She drew out a gun and he followed. He loved timid Luna but he did not disapprove of badass Luna.
"What's with you?" He asked in whispers.
"That question should be for them." She answered, "simple terms, they're noisy."
Daniel raised his eyebrows and tilted his head to the left for a brief moment, agreeing with her.
"I suggest you get ready for battle instead of bickering." Daniel suggested.
Everyone listened hesitantly. Well, except for Leah who has been ready for battle for quite some time now. Suddenly, the elevator stopped causing the to almost lose their balance. No doors opened. Nothing moved. It was just silence. They stood there for a bit. Then and there, the elevator started to move left.
"Son of a gun!" Wesley yelled.
