The Second Day of Expedition

"From the 23 dead Lycanis and an Alpha Lycanis, we get around 450 yellow spirit shards, 31 orange spirit shards, 23 yellow beast cores and an orange beast core."

Marcius looked at the items on the table in front of him.

The two different types of spirit shards were put separately into two pouches. The beast cores, however, were carefully kept within well-crafted wooden boxes.

"Distribute all the spirit shards among the soldiers who accompanied me into the forest yesterday. The yellow beast cores will be given to the cultivators who also accompanied me to the forest. They include Ser Janus and Leon." Marcius ordered.

The heir of Aemilia clan picked up the slightly larger orange beast core.

"I'll be taking this."

The beast core was safely put into his storage ring.

"If others complain because they are not getting the rewards, tell them it will be their turn to accompany me on my trip into the forest. And that, they will also be awarded according to their performance today."

Marcius, then, remembered something.

"Oh, and from dismantling the beasts, you do get a lot of beasts' blood, right?"

Toros was puzzled, but nonetheless he answered.

"Yes, young master. I mean we do not particularly collect the blood. But I believe we got quite a few."

"Excellent. Send them to my tent. I have use for them. And from now on, start collecting blood when you dismantle monsters."

"This one obeys."

Marcius turned around to head back to his tent.

"And Toros, you will also be appropriately rewarded for your diligent work. Just not yet."

"Thank you, young master."

Marcius used Movement of Gaea to quickly approached the enemy.

Then, his hands became a blur and the opposing demon beast was cut into pieces.

It was another Lycanis Marcius just slayed.

This time, Marcius took a different group of soldiers into the forest. He did this because he wanted to give all of his troops an equal opportunity for rewards and experiences.

Today, Marcius and his small group of soldiers had to faces a few different species of demon beasts.

Most of them were still Lycanis packs, but there were additions to the demon beasts they had to face.

Despite the addition in numbers to the beasts they had to fight, Marcius's troops were doing better than yesterday.

The reason for that was the flying objects above the small army.

The scout drones.

Marcius bought four more drones using 300 bounty points in total.

He left one drone back at the camp. One drone would be enough to observe and scout around the settlement because the location was small.

The rest of the drones were accompanying Marcius's group from above the sky.

They were efficiently observing the surrounding, to scout ahead of the ambushes.

That was the reason Marcius's group was doing well this time around. They could also find more species of wildlife.

In addition to Lycanis, they could also find Archnides, which was a specie of giant spiders with poisonous fangs.

They also found some Werebears, a larger and stronger specie of bears. They were stronger than Lycanis, but not as strong as an Alpha Lycanis.

So, they could be easily dealt with, using appropriate formation and strategy.

It was the Archnides Marcius was worried about.

While they were even weaker than a Lycanis, their ability to swarm was far greater than the Lycanis packs. The Archnides lived in a hive numbering around hundreds.

Marcius was concerned they would run into a Archnide hive. That was why he was constantly surveying the surrounding more and more carefully, as they got deeper into the forest.

There was a reason why Marcius dared to blatantly use the items from the system. While they could not see the invisible scout drones, the soldiers could see the tablet in Marcius hand.

The reason was simple. No one would be brave enough to ask him about those items.

And even if they reported back to his grandfather and parents, he could just play the 'my master gave me those' card.

Even though they knew he was probably lying, Marcius and his parents as well as his grandfather were in a phase of 'don't ask, don't tell.'

They would not ask him to reveal his secrets, and he would not have to lie.

As he was watching the screen for the live-feed from the drones, he noticed something peculiar.

"This!"

The scene displaying on the screen was an oval shaped structure, covered in purple layers. The lower half of the structure was buried into the ground. Veins like branches were surrounding the structure and a lot of spiderwebs could be also seen around the structure.

'F**k. That is a Archnide hive.'

It was a huge Archnide hive. And it was located in a short distance, east of Marcius's settlement.
