Forced Concessions (1)

"Shut your ungodly loud voice, Pheles! They have us imprisoned and our city occupied by their army. Nothing you can say now will let us off without any consequences even if they are feeling generous."

There was another voice that interrupted the lord of Kerther as he made to wildly speak again after Marcius chided him. The difference between the later voice compared to the lord of Kerther was that even if this female voice sounded weak and frail, it also carried a certain amount of authority and a commanding tone in it.

Marcius moved his sight toward where the voice came from and saw an old woman sitting in the cell two rooms down from Lord Kerther's one. He knew her to be the matriarch of the overlord clan of the lowlands. And it was clear that this weak and frail-looking old woman with white hair had more wits and courage than the head of the family himself.

"And you must be Kesi Kerther, the oldest living member of the clan of Kerther," Marcius replied.
