Marcius Aemilia was killed during a duel because his opponent cheated by using a vicious poison.

The Revenant King of Rubrum

As Marcius and the Eternal Flames Phoenix reached a compromise, they decided to part ways. Ashuran wanted to come to put a little distance between the two of them and the rest of the Purple Sun Hil as she wanted to have some privacy during their talk.

Now, that was over and Marcius was free to return to the siege camp of the Aemilia clan. But, Marcius allowed the phoenix to leave back as he stayed in the sky for a little longer. He looked at the departing figure of the Eternal Flames Phoenix and noticed the temperature of the surroundings had dropped to ordinary levels as soon as the primal spirit beast of fire left.

As he reflected back on the situation, Marcius could not help but let out a wry smile. The Eternal Flames Phoenix had come to the Purple Sun Hill in order to get revenge for her child by killing Marcius. But the circumstances had forced the fiery beast to reconsider her actions.
