A Lost Legacy

Last night's event was successful. Yuri had sent the MMA Masters and Coaches home and had Botan manage a project he assigned to him. The next morning in Yuri's Condominium.

"Akira, you're running this election? Why are you running?" Yuri said. "To be one of those parasites in the National Diet?" He shook his head in frustration.

"You don't understand. You may put those men in jail but who will keep them there? It takes more than just money to make a better world, son." Akira said. He sat on the sofa and proceeded to keep working on his laptop.

"What won't I understand? Those sneaky politicians disgraced your family, and dirtied your father's legacy..." Yuri closed Akira's laptop and said, "and endanger your life?"

Akira stood up and looked Yuri in the eyes.

"Because I promised my Father. Every day I visit his grave, I remind myself of what he stood for. He stood for the greater good, son. Even if it meant losing his life in the process."

"They will kill you. And I don't know what I will do if I lose you too." He headed to the door and took his keys to the car. Before closing the door, he said, "You took care of me since I was a child. You were there for me when Gaia was... You kept my secret. And heck your name is used to buy this condominium and that car. You were always there for me. I'll be there for you too."

Yuri left and went to the Dojo to go see Botan. The Dojo was bought under Botan's name. The AI found a loophole to say that he received a huge inheritance from his parents, after taxes, of course.

Shirtless and sweaty, Botan had maintained his weight loss regime as the Attribute Boosts would be stronger if the original stats of the user was also stronger.

This system mechanic made athletes and martial artists the best fit as the Overlord's initial warriors. "Well, look at you, Oh, Overlord Yuri," he said and bowed jokingly.

"By the way, what are we going to do with the huge hole we left at the hotel," Botan said.

"Don't you mean, our hotel? I bought the whole thing from the owner last night."

He smiled with a wink.

Botan tugged Yuri on the shoulder and said, "I can't believe we're funding the construction of Nine Dojos in Japan. The ones in Hokkaido, Tohoku, and the Kanto region are going to be massive. But why Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu regions too, Yuri? Isn't that a bit overkill?" He looked at Yuri with crossed eyebrows.

"I want to give everyone a chance to be strong, Bo. Whether they're from the big city or a small town. If they want to be strong, they can train hard in the Dojos," Yuri said and smiled. "But of course, they need to bow before the great Overlord."

Yuri walked closer to Botan and opened the Magitek System Menu.

"Party"

[Magitek System Party]

[Add a party member]

"Add Botan Saburo as New Party Member."

[Registering Botan Saburo as a member of the user's Party]

"Bo. repeat after me, 'Status'. You say it." Yuri said.

"Status?" Botan replied and a screen message appeared before him. His eyes bugged. "Woah!"

[Status]

[User: Botan Saburo]

[Dexterity: F]

[Brawn: F]

[Endurance: F]

[Finesse: F ]

"This stuff is getting confusing, man. I'm so glad you helped me out with that speech yesterday. Did you write that, bro?" Botan said.

He put his huge hand on Yuri's shoulder.

"It's going to get busy too. I mean me... A 20-year-old handling oversight of nine construction sites and more than two hundred Martial Arts Coaches, Masters, and the fighters? Like what if they all fight back and kill me once they get their hands on the Magitek weaponry?"

Yuri leaned on the table and smirked.

"It's simple, Bo. Chain of Command. Every human being, even the strongest and toughest is part of a hierarchy. Sure, they can gang up on us but do they want to? Because, if we're gone... they all go back to being weak like before. And looking at their eyes last night, I know for sure they'd rather have a dark demonic tyrant that gives them power than tyrants who take away theirs," Yuri said.

"So basically, the one who holds the source of these weapons also holds the power too?" Botan said."Anyways, you can always count on me, bro. Let's go change the world. I'm headed out now, oh and uh... Thanks for buying me that Ferrari."

"What? I didn't buy you that. Wasn't that a gift from your long-lost family abroad?"

They both laughed again.

Yuri went back to his condo and changed into a baggy white t-shirt and his favorite spiderman shorts before sitting down on the sofa.

"Aaaaah. Finally, relaxation."

He murmured. His walls were cleanly painted white, and the kitchen looked like it was straight from a real-estate magazine, filled with every electrical appliance he passed by at the mall.

"AI... Umm... Can you hand me the coffee, please?" Yuri said.

"Master, AI does not have a physical form capable of transferring the coffee's position," the AI replied.

"Oh right. I forgot. hmmm... Maybe we should fix that. Anyway, proceed with the next part of the plan." he said. Yuri glanced over at the coffee machine and saw the hot steamy cappuccino.

He imagined that the Hacienda Esmeralda Coffee he ordered must have tasted like paradise.

"Fine, I'll get the coffee myself."

He rolled his eyes.

He stood up, slumped his shoulders like a spoiled child, and dragged his feet to the kitchen.

Yuri mumbled curse words and swore on his gravestone that soon he will never have to lift a finger to get coffee for himself.

He sat down on the sofa again and put his feet on the glass coffee table.

[Congratulations Yuri! You have completed a system quest.]

[You have now leveled up to Level 3: Reward 50,000 Mana Points and Artificial Intelligence Object Generation Upgraded to Level 2]

Yuri, surprised by the System Message, spit his coffee and choked. "Lev... Cough* Level 2?"
