The Wind

There were still stars in the sky during that very early morning in Kyoto. The entire city was asleep except for some rabbits that began their search for food in the dark blue lights of the open and cloudless morning sky. The tree leaves waved and danced against the cold winds while Yuri was walking in the wilderness outside of the protection and knowledge of the Imperial guard.

He trod the lonely forest like a hunter would walk back home after a kill. With nothing but peaceful solemn in his heart. It was natural. To kill something. Even if it was innocent. Even if it was the meekest of creatures. A hunter would kill a mother rabbit that was taking care of its young ones. He would not doubt in his mind that the trigger of his bow would end a life or more. Lives that were exempt from the evil and wicked nature of our world. He was just a hunter. And the rabbit, simply his honest uncooked meal.
